Does anyone know what this kind of fastener is called? A snap or a rivet? It's commonly used to construct leather articles. One piece goes into the other with the leather in between and then you hit the rounded top piece with a hammer to grab the stud. Thanks.
What is this type of fastener called?

Thanks for the help guys.
The one in the pic I posted is called single cap rapid rivet, and it is available through leather supply.
Once I found that I also found what's called a double cap rapid rivet, which is better for my application.
I ordered it from here http://www.eleathersupply.com/fasteners.shtml

making dog leads Dan?

I reshaped this muzzle to fit my dog better. I removed rivets and needed some to put it back together.
I used to have some very good leather dog leashes made. From time to time I'd change the snaps on them for safety reasons. That also required rivets.

very cool.
what does rambo need the muzzle for? I found him to be quite under your control?

wow, that is AWESOME....I am totally impressed.
when can we expect to see some vids like that with 'Bo?

follow up ?
in the last video it seems like the dog is defending it's owner w/o any commands issued, is that a normal thing or is the dog in a defense "mode"
also, does this sort of training confuse the dog about who is the threat? specifically, the kid who plays the assailant, will the dog think he is a threat when they next meet or is that all about the commands given at the time?
very very cool.and while you are doing all the leather work...why not make your little angel a saddle for the dog...the size is about right and she could be a rott rider

In some situations a protection dog is required to aggress without command, such as when the handler is attacked, or if someone breaks into the home.
In the vid with the rott the people are not pros, they're just messing around, but the dog is a good dog. And yes that could be confusing to the dog the way they're doing it.
when can we expect to see some vids like that with 'Bo?
As soon as I can convince Steven to come over
Here's some muzzle training from today with a doberman.
