This is great stuff to have at all times. Great idea having it in the boat Dan. Adrian that's nothing the shit the Mil does to pigs is crazy but worth it.

I can only imagine.

Get only the stuff that is encased in gauze. Do not get the loose granules. They are life threatening. The granules might get into the veins or arteries and cause a blockage and may kill the patient. :nono:
Oh yeah, and it gets really HOT!! -
How do you know it gets hot Rhodyhunter?
-
Because, we have to take classes with this stuff. and it is issued with what we call a blowout kit.
-
RhodyHunter--you are 100% correct about the gauze AND the granules.

Here is a company that sells kits.http://www.narescue.com/Portal.aspx?CN=89137DEF8AF4

Quickclot we used them in our Combat Life Saver(CLS) Bags or IFAK (improvised First Aid Kit). Usually is easy to use but I recommend anybody to take first aid classes with how to control hemorrhage. one thing is if you ever have to use it and you apply it. DO NOT REMOVE IT :). let a certified DOCTOR DEAL WITH IT. I've seen in the ARMY a guy that put it up and then decided to take it out a half an hour later. with not to much experience and the Clot came out and the spurred bright red blood all over again. yeah some people lack common sense. =)

OK, got my 3 packages of QuickClot gauze in the mail a few days ago.
I vacuum sealed each one and put 2 in my yak dry bag.
I'm just hoping that I never have to come back to this thread to report if it really works or not:@ -
