On Pipins pnuematic line what are those things on the gun half way up the barrel ? are those handles to help load the shaft better? was curious about those and all I can think is that they are a handle for leverage in loading the shafts, am I correct on this?

I think you're talking about a loading assist bar, commonly referred to as a knee loader which is a misnomer because you don't put it on the knee, rather on the foot the same as you would with the pneumatic speargun handle. It's one of a few adaptations that allow you to load a longer pneumatic. This device is not particular to any pneumatic speargun line, it's an aftermarket accessory.
