Those are awesome images, I love the kelp stringer in the left corner. Old mans has young ones in the line up all the time. Did you burn those on the Go Pro? Looks like a healthy 10 footer.

We just pretend that they don't exist.
I was going to call Capt Leo and try to go back and put a shaft in the big Thresher we had hit the lure
in that area last week. I need to go gather more nuts before winter.
DP
i woud need a lot more nuts to shoot a thresher
Those sharks must be Fluffy's offspring. They are cute.
If you close your eyes you can't not see them and they cannot see you.
If you close your eyes you can't not see them and they cannot see you.
I dove a offshore spot called the 277 Fathom when bait was flying out of the water. A giant ball of bait was on the surface so I jumped in with my game gun pre- cocked. Dropping through the bait ball with my eyes closed to try to relax from the hasty gear up. At about 35 feet deep I opened my eyes and saw a big shape in the cloudy water I thought was a giant tuna or marlin. Next I saw a magenta colored spaghetti tag as I tried to figure what was this wide girth ? At that second I felt my body go rigid as my sliptip pointed at a big white shark that had been sinking on a downward angle from me into the gloom and I was following :@.
I rolled out of my dive and closed my eyes as I began the long haul back to the surface....yes if you close your eyes they cannot see you and you can not see them.;)
One of the many times in the sea I've been scared but felt very much alive.

PS... TTIWWOp:D
did you guys see this article this morning?
http://www.petethomasoutdoors.…wing-off-california-.html
I like the line at the end. Good news for fisherman - fewer sea lions. bad news for surfers, swimmers, and DIVERS. Actually, it is good news for a healthier ocean with more fish for us, keeping those gill-netters out!
Swimmers and surfers? They're probably not so enthusiastic.
-- Pete Thomas
I personalty like the cute furry things better.;) My old neighbor in San Clemente was a gill netter that caught 4
over 2k lbs at SBI. He knew I was working with Assemblywomen Doris Allen on Prop 132 (gill net restrictions)
He would tell me; '' just wait about ten years, you'll have fur dogs and eaters on all your spots''.
I would tell him that's Ok ever see what your1/2 mile long curtain of death does to my mother ocean?''
Well we weren't the best of friends, he would leave copies of news paper articles with his shark captures on the windshield of my dive van.
Cheers, Don
