As an aside because dan mentioned the noise, does anyone know how to keep your shock cord from rattling? The pigtail on mine clicks when I make big movements. Anyone have this happen? Any fixes?
Rattling shock cord

Reverse it? What happens if you put the pig tail (or snap swivel) at the point where the bungie attachest to the muzzle, instead of at the shooting line? It would probably be a little more difficult to install / remove, but probably not prohibitively so. If need be, you could attach a very short loop of line to the line anchor, then attach the pigtail to that.

Put a clear vinyl tubing over it

Good idea. You can slide it on/off as needed.

wow, great answers, thanks guys...I make my own cords so I didn't know about that clever little feature from RA.
Jeff, I had thought about reversing it, but then I'd need another quick release at the other end to take on and off the shooting line so I'd really gain very little inless I was willing to treat the cord as part of the shooting line

I may not be following you, but can't the loop of the bungie attach to the loop of the mono shooting line with a smiple lark's head? I guess it depends on how often and how quickly you need to disengage the bungie from the shooting line.
-
yeah, it could be, but like you said, I like to be a ble to disengage the shooting line completely for removing the line from fish or if there is a tangle and I need to just disconnect.
I think the vinyl sleeve is a grand idea. I will try that and report back

Also can try an O-ring or piece of bungie tubing also.
-
Or you can use a plastic pigstail swivel.
-
If you place a small piece of adhesive vinyl to the pipe just where the clip makes contact, it will reduce the noise significantly. You could also use a piece of neoprene and it will disappear.
The clear tubing that comes with the RA bungees don't let the swivel rotate, so I always take it off.

After reading on here and realizing the vinyl tubing works, but retains moisture and doesn't let the line swivel freely I cut a peice of SeaDek and stuck it on the tube, now changing lines is much quicker and looks alot cleaner.
-
Nice. And you can stimulate nurse sharks with it if you get bored
-
Lol
-
hahaha, that is hilarious Dan, but seriously, it looks like it does the job nicely
-
If you guys need some SeaDek I Have some scraps from my boat
-
Does it come in black?
