One of Dan's recent posts gave me the idea to post some pics of black grouper and their different colorations. Here are some of my underwater shots of blacks showing some of the different colorations of live fish (photos have not been adjusted). I do have one additional photo that I couldn't find at the moment that I will dig up of a small black with a very unique light coloring.
- Bad quality photo but you can see two blacks in this picture. One with light coloring and black fin tips and the other dark with the light markings(this one is under the cubera). Fish are both approx 30-40lbs
- A ~20lb fish with dark brown/black and white markings.
- Another ~20lb fish that had pretty unique coloring. Instead of the typical dark brown/black body this one had a significantly lighter brown body with white markings
- Small fish (~10lbs) with dark body, black fin tips, and faint white markings.
- Typical "lit up" coloring with dark brown body and bright white markings. (20-25lbs)
- Separate fish from the one above but displaying the same coloration.
