Buechat Marlin Pacific anyone used one?

  • Hey,

I'm looking at a Beuchat Marlin Pacific 115. Has anyone used a carbon/wood composite gun like this before? Any opinions? I like everything about the gun with the exception of the placement of the safety. Any comparisons or review would be greatly appreciated.

It will be my first light blue water gun for mahi, cobia, big jacks and maybe a few wahoo. I have used friends huge Riffes and I feel like they might be overkill but maybe I'm wrong. I have used a 42 hornet for the past 10 years and I will make that a low vis/beater gun.

  • If there are no responses, PM Fuzz... he has shot every gun that has a handle.

  • The gun has a carbon tube within the wood. I think it may be a good idea, but I dont know?

  • Alan had the Beuchat Marlin, same thing except for the wood barrel. It felt like a complicated gun for some reason, I think that's why he got rid of it. Does it shoot a 7mm shaft? It has this muzzle system where the shaft clicks into it and is held fairly securely. I can't help but think that when shooting there's friction between the shaft and the muzzle that I'd rather not have. Probably works fine though. From what I recall the handle had decent angle and was relatively comfortable. Tito told me he likes to use these handles on his euro wood guns. I believe the reason the Beuchat handle is good for this application is because it works as a female to accept the stock or pipe.

  • Capmattson If indeed carries a carbon inner soul hovering in the comprehensive guide, where you slide the rod, so that the teak wood will not bend.
Dan leads the head clamp which grips the rod and prevents their movement, but carries an adjusting screw underneath to loosen or stronger according to preferences of the fisherman.2007 testing

  • I think there are a lot cheaper guns for bluewater..I believe you need a bigger gun for bluewater..as a former owner of a 42 biller(hornet its almost the same)...If you know how to load big guns get one..I think with the 115cm you will end buying a bigger gun..(just my personal opinion,I said I think like 6 times because I never had done bluewater its just what I think jaja..there are a lot of expirienced divers here that can give you more info..)..bottom line is you never know what big creature you encounter in bluewater..

  • I owned a Carbon Mundial Elite the same one pictured. It brought a shitty 6.5mm shaft and a single short band with no power. The gun has a safety that easily self activates and will cause you to lose fish. The gun is overly complicated and is kind of a bitch to reload. The gun seems like it can break easily. I dont see it being used as a bluewater gun not enough power and too fragile. It almost seems like a toy.

I sold it for what i bought it for. I will continue using my Rob Allens.

    Keep it simple...

  • ALANThere are many colors to taste, Beuchat that model?, if the former is true that the insurance slip, the rod is changed by a more grososr and no problem.pacific
model is designed for fishing where the name says, another thing is that the models come with standard rods and more personal if you want to change it for a specific fishing.
Have you tried to model Pacific or model Roller? to make that decision. Is not the same the global elite carbon, the carbon Marlin rifles are different.

  • 1st, I love the mundial handle, I have it on my Tito gun and it is great. Dan you are corrent, Tito does like them for the female barrell joint, but they are also good handles.
2nd, the gun in that picture is not loaded, there is a second pin behind the one loaded, so the gun has one band on the front pin and one on the cheater tab...I dont know why, but it can also be loaded normally
3rd- Don, this is not the roller marlin, that gun also feels overly complicated but i have heard it shoots like a ton of brick and has good accuracy, the only slight was that is it tracked heavily and the bands make a lot of noise when you swung it side to side

    i like to spear fish

  • After talking with a few people, I think I have changed my mind and I'm going to buy a 130-140 Mako enclosed track or a 130 riffe euro. Thanks for the help. I just hate buying a gun sight unseen since they are factory direct.

  • The Mako ET is a heavy gun with an uncomfortably big handle.

The Riffe euro is a nice gun but it has a handle that's too small and a wide profile that's exaggerated when the bands are loaded making it difficult to grip by the stock.

  • We need to open your mind to other options, not always succeeds in the lesson, but when a brand win 3 world championships, plus many international and national championships as Pedro Carbonell with Beuchat is somehow logical.
