Tomba - vacuum barrel system

Smooth looking slider. It doesn't look like there's much of a step on the shaft adapter. What will stop the slider?

The line segment at the front of the shaft I believe.

Dan, it is a sealed barrel, so no step is possible. Actually, there are special shafts without the threaded butt to be used with those systems.
If you pay attention, there is an orifice in the front part of the shaft. Just behind the flopper.
The slider is used for hole/reef shooting. If you leave the shaft as it is (without a slider), it acts as a huge slip tip.

I just noticed the line hole near the front of the shaft. This system I'm familiar with. What is the function of the slider with the line on it then?

Without that micro slide on a "free shaft" a shaft deflects because of the pulling force from the shaft tip where the line is attached. This way it is more accurate. Next it behaves more similar to the regular shaft with a line slide. It is easier to retrieve the shaft after shooting in narrow places. It is also more convenient to wrap the line before loading the shaft. Without micro slide you must load the gun first, and than wrap the line round line release ...

If you want to use Devoto slider with Tomba, I suggest this way. But have on mind that according to my measurement Tomba slider is almost 50 % better in performance (energy of the shaft) than Devoto. With Tomba650 you might use Devoto slider as it is, without Tomba part. This is possible because the OD of Devoto slider is 10,5 mm and Tomba 10,7 mm - diameters are similar. But Tomba700 has OD of the slider 11,5 mm (Devoto 10,5 mm) so Devoto alone would not be good idea.

What is the mono dia? The only thing I would be concerned with is the knot necking down
under heavy load and cutting it self. This could be tested with a spring scale and pull to failure. My kit is still holding up well.:thumbsup2:

Yes, I agree with you Don! Mono on image is 1 mm. Could be up to 1.5 mm. I am glad your kit is still working.
