• OK, so I am sure this has been touched on before so I will make it short. I want to get a WP camera that can reach a depth of 30' or so. I am not interested in making videos and hear the GoPro stills aren't very good so I am looking for an alternative. Thoughts opinions? Thanks :toast:

  • I've been happy with the Cannon SD series. I believe they're at SD1400 right now. I use the SD100 http://spearfishing.world/unde…-for-underwater-pics.html My wife has the SD1400, I've never used it underwater because I don't have a case for it, but so far I've seen it takes great video. It's also more compact than the SD1000.

  • I like the Canon ELPH series too. Reasonably priced housings from Canon and great stills. I may have one for sale, $300 with camera and housing.

Another shallow alternative is the Intova cameras and the Canon Powershot D10.

  • I have an Olympus and I'm happy with it. It is waterproof to 10', but with the case it is up to 120'.

If it wasn't waterproof itself would be flooded long time ago.
