  • South of Port Everglades today

    Solo today. Started in 55fsw and ended up in 45fsw to have viz
    Got stopped AGAIN today by FWC but they were "just checking to see if you were ok out here". (I was almost the only boat out there so I guess they had to stop me to meet quota).:rolleyes1:
    Saw a 3 1/2-4f spotted eagle ray at 55fsw. She hung around me for a full 15min. I even dropped on her 3 times and each time she would glide about 10f away and watch me. IMO rays are one of the most graceful sea animals.:cool2:
    Saw few shootable fish. Viz was so nice at 55fsw that I miss judged the distance on a NICE mac and when I squeezed the trigger on my ETPG the shaft hit the end of the shooting line WAY before it got to the mac :(

    I'll be at meade in the AM with my non diving brother for some time on the water...he'll be mostly h&l, I'll be diving of course

    Got no fish today but met spearo cheetah chrome on the beach and seen fishingdude out on the reeftop.:D
    Hope others did better spearin than me
    Today is a beautiful yak freediving spearfishing day:D

    me an sdeisen went shallow today and shot fish within 15min of dropping anchors
    sdeisen shot a nice cuda, then I shot a 46in cuda and a smaller cuda, then sdeisen shot a cuda that was so big that it spooled his entire reel:D
    In a very short time we had a lot cuda guts in the water and the tax men started to show up so we drifted off:dance:

    Had a great day solo diving shallow. Went close to shore cause clouds were too threatening to go out further.
    Saw NO cudas today
    Had to replace a wishbone while out on the yak.
    Spend a half hour outsmarting a VERY educated 18in hog:thumbsup2:
    Got 2 hogs, 1 mutton and 1 porgy today

  • can honestly say ive never encountered an educated hog, ive spooked some before but that was just because I didnt see them (before my prescription mask) all the ones ive come across would swim a bit then turn sideways just in time to see 3 pounds of Odor flying at them

    Lots of boats on the water today
    Saw 3 different nurse sharks
    I got 3 hogs, 1 mutton an 1 porgy in 4 1/2 hours in the water
    Today was a beautiful yak spearin day :thumbsup2:
