• Hi all, my name is Sean and I am from Western Australia. I have been a keen spero for 2 and a half years now! Wish i had traded my fishing gear for a gun a long time ago! I stumbled across the site while doing research for a blue water gun build and found speardiver to offer me the most information that i was looking for. I have built the barrel out of 8mm laminates of different timbers to give me both strengh and a great look. I glued them with international epiglue, epoxy. I am in the process of building a jig to router in the enclosed uhmw track, thought this would be easier than cutting the while track out on my first build. I have ordered a Alexander trigger mech and was wondering if i shold have sourced a neptonics tuna mech. I would love to hear some input on both?

  • Welcome mate, good to have you :thumbsup2: Your out there in the land of Barry Paxman and Edge reels.

The Alexander is a life time mech you can trust that's for sure, the housing has some mass.It was based on the Undersee from your homeland, but with investment cast SS instead of brass. The 316SS housing is milled from billet.Jay Riffe imported the first Undersee's for his gun line. Steve later revamped it.
I have no personal experience with Neptronic but many builders use them.

    Cheers, Don Paul
