You boys like Mexico? Yoooooooooo!!!!!!!

  • Yesterday I went to the nados with a friend from work and my other buddy capt. Bly. He made us look like fools with his stringer of calicos and one or two sheepshead. We had great viz and since everyone was at work we had the islands to ourselves. Viz was 40'+ and ranging 61-63 degrees. I am gonna compile of a video of all the fish I missed it is pretty annoying. On a good note Capt. Bly (Matt) shot a fish that ranged from 8.8 and 10.6 pounds on the scale. So we called it 9.6. Get down there if you can for some good viz.

  • Wow TT, You really sucked that day. :D:laughing: Just kidding. Thanks for sharing that. I just got a GoPro so I'll try to get some video up if I learn how to use it....which could take a while.

Hank you hit the head on the nail. I did suck that day. It was nice having clear water like that though for a change. I like doing videos better than pics. It just takes practice. The only boring part is the uploading to the computer than uploading to youtube. I hope you make some vids soon.

  • Looks like some fun diving. I would make a target and try to figure out whats up with the gun. Maybe a bent shaft? Sometimes its the arrow and not the Indian.

Ya I will check it. Thanks

  • Definitely check the shaft. I had one that was barely bent and missed a stone shot on a 50# grouper and ended up tearing off. It was very bent afterwards...

  • How far of the tip were you shooting with the 120 Brett ? If I ever miss twice in a row I swim back to the boat inspect my gear or have a talk to myself. I was very lucky to have Tahitian mentors that really busted my balls if I blew more the two shots in front of them. Is that a new gun your shooting ? What were you shooting before? As Davis said check hard for a bent shaft/tip or a hanging flopper, somethings not right mate.

  • I agree with Don. I totally lost my mojo for a while shooting black grouper. I had a new shaft on and didn't notice it was bent before I ever used it. I missed about 4 easy shots. For months after that I'd be looking down the gun at a grouper and thinking, "shit, I'm going to miss again". It sucks.

I did the same thing for a while and just got used to shooting fish 3' from the tip of my 130cm gun. I think the shaft is still bent.

  • It was not my gun it was spearhunter's. Lol

I just don't have my mid handle reef gun done yet. Should be done soon though.
