DiveR fins

  • Im thinking of getting a pair of diveR fins. Anyone have any experience with them and what's the best stiffness? Thanks

  • DiveR are a lot of hype. I owned a pair and got rid of them after 3 dives. They're built like a tank, but are too heavy and the 30 degree toe angle works against you. That's if you like the extra long 90cm blades, in my opinion they're too difficult to control for spearfishing. If you're going to them from a plastic fin you may think they're great. But if you've experienced a good fiberglass or carbon blade you'd know the DiveR are not good blades. I use the Speardiver C90 carbon fins.

  • Also had a pair DiveR fins and sold them, a lot harder than carbon blades. I found they wobble on me and don't really channel the water

  • Woa now dont hate too much on dive rs. For long surface swims (couple miles) which is what I do, they are perfect. The angle is great. For boat diving I might hate on them a little as they are heavy and cumbersome at times. They are worth the hype depending on the type of diving you are doing. They are made in Aus where long surface swims are normal. Take them for what they are....

No hate just first hand experience.

  • I have had three pairs of DiveR (soft, medium, and hard) I moved up from Cressi LD and HDs. I found the DiveRs to be excellent. That was until I tried a pair of the Speardiver C100 fins. I liked the Speardiver fins so much that I now have 2 pairs of them. They are in my opinion a better option. Find a foot pocket that you like and go Speardiver. :toast:

I had a a pair new of C4 Mustangs that were sold after I used the Speardiver C90 fins medium stiffness in H. Dessualt foot pockets. How do you like the C100 compared to the C90?

  • How do you know G.R. got a pair of C90? :) I was about to ask him myself. I always recommend the C90, but some people want to try the Speardiver C100 or think that the DiveR length is the correct length. G.R. is the only one I know that extensively uses the C100 and now had a chance to try the C90. Granted it can always be said that one kind blade is suited for certain conditions, in this case I'd say the C100 have a small propulsion advantage in ideal conditions ie. no current, and where you don't have to maneuver much underwater.

  • I just '' Ass-umed'' ;) he has kicked every long blade in the states. I have shoes for all terrains and do not have one fin for all conditions.....

  • I agree that the C100 are not as easy to move around in, but when you are at 130 feet and want to get back to the surface with the same breath you started with the C100 are a welcome part of my dive gear. The C90s are good for the average stuff that most of us dive. I will say that both are bullet proof. I have abused my C100 for 2 years now and they show no signs of failure. That is why I came back and bought the new C90 this past month.
I am not going to say anything bad about other make fins, but there are some real bad carbon fins out there. That is why I dove the Cressy's up until about 4 years ago. Watching my friends break blades and complain about their equipment gets old. I want a good product that is super reliable and has good performance. Speardiver has done this for me and they perform better than anything I have tried.
