I've hunted in the past with either a Mares shorty pneumatic or a pole spear. I want to upgrade, so to speak, to something that can go for the big ones, pelagics maybe.
I have a blank piece of South American hardwood that is very dense, has very tight growth rings and is quite true. It is 38 inches long by 2 & 1/4 square. I believe the wood is Jacaranda but will have to check.
Is this blank large enough for an open water gun?
Thanks!
