What is the purpose of the bar around the back of the engine? Cool looking boat.
protects the engines from hits, once you ride on those shock mitigating seats you'll never want to use a leaning post again.

Wake boarding :yay:
When the drives are tilted up it protects the lower unit/props along with keeping stern lines off the motors.
Some work boats have a stout triple bar cage in this area.
in the mean time I plugged some holes with G-Flex soaked hardwood dowels.
The hot blond :nono: neighbor just invited us for steak and Margarita's ...leaving the GoPro here though.;)
Man the fort.:D

Well I postponed the R+R with the blondes and mocked up a control lever cover from scrap bits. Dillon has the camera at baseball, more images later.
Cheers, Don
Found some 5.7 oz plain weave carbon tow, going to rework my prototype control cover, I had some blems that bugged me.
Cheers, Don
G-flex over my previous work, after it is tacky, followed by light rolling with a metal wheel.
Continued....
Cheers, Don
G-Flex applied with a brush with trimmed bristles.I''ll trim the edges some before hard. Vac bag film ready for the tube.

Darkness with some Rit dye.
The mount was white PVC, the speedometer pickup was white nylon and needs more time.
I simmered the water and dye for 5min, shut off the flame and put in the parts for a hr. Just don't spill any on white tile in the kitchen.
Cheers, Don
Last few weeks my garage has been hot, even with a fan so I took some time off and knocked out a week of ''honey do list '' stuff. :rolleyes1:
Tonight the Cali air is cool and sweet with fall creeping in the slightly opened garage door. I used to really put in some late nights on my personal projects. Now... wanting to share time with my young son and GF I have changed, along with staying off the espresso (at night) and late night grinding of teeth. So please bear with me as I creep through this build.
Foam brushed on the first coat of Phil's epoxie system, then put it in my ''clean room'' for the night.
Then mounted the marine 12v accessory socket.
Cheers, Don
