Hello from the Lake Tahoe area.
Just recent to spearfishing - 2 years ago. Last year I was loaned a Hatch speargun when I was on the Big Island. Since I have been in the trades all my life, one look told me I could build one of these.
Some time ago (15yrs) my father-in-law and myself came into a bunch of teak. We're talking 6x10 beams. Over the years I've built a lot of stuff with what we have, but until recently never thought of spearguns. This stuff is pretty amazing - straight grained and clear.
