Lots of pnemo geniuses on here. Probably could talk you through anything. What broke?
Nothing yet, but every shop that I talk to says that they repair mares and omer, but not the seac. They seem very similar in construction.
Seac has simple internals. What's the problem with the gun?
No problems yet, but I know that eventually somthing will need repair. I guess that you change the oil the same as with the mares, and with the same frequency. I have never repaired my pneumatics myself, but I need to start.
When I used pneumatics, I changed the oil of all of them with the same frecuency: Never!
If I'm not wrong, Asso's can use the same piston as Mares as well as the brake. Other things that may need to be changed are the o'rings and those are pretty much universal.
Any Mares repair shop should be able to service your Asso.
Thanks Marco, i chose the Seas Sub Asso because it was the only one i could find in 130cm. i have a sten in 100cm and a cyrano in 850 also. So the sten o ring kit should work for the asso, thats good info.
The gun in this thread is the same as the Seac http://spearfishing.world/spea…e-pneumatic-speargun.html. When it becomes necessary, take it apart and familiarize yourself with the internal components, it's really simple. The only thing you may need to do is change the rings if they dry out after a few years. Or if the inner tube gets scratched and you get an air leak, in which case you must replace it. Oil doesn't need to be changed.
Thanks Dan, that makes it look easy.
I would change the oil once every year. Its so cheap to do but its not necessary. Get yourself 10w fork oil. There are a few places that a pneumatic can possibly have a problem. The trigger, the reduce power level and the piston. If the gun is well oiled, those orings last so long and probably never need to be changed. The oil prevents rust, keeps orings from drying out from saltwater, and obviously helps with friction.
The Sten piston is the same size as the Seac piston.
Does anyone know How you access the internal trigger area? my asso 75 trigger (not the actual plastic trigger, but whatever the trigger presses against to release the spear) seems to be getting sticky so that at times when loading the spear, the spear won't even lock in
Cheers

The trigger is a pin. You can remove it to inspect it. You'll have to depressurize the gun first. If I remember right then remove the trigger (plastic).
Is the plastic trigger removed by twisting the. Sensitivity screw?
There should be a horizontal stainless steel pin holding the plastic trigger in place.
Yep I see it haha might be a stupid question, but how do I remove that?
It doesn't have anywhere to place a Phillips or flat head screw driver?
The horizontal pin? Just knock it out gently.
Thanks so much guys

Does anyone know if you can detach the entire plastic grip , trigger etc from the inner barrel?

Yes you can, just read right through that thread I indicated previously.
