Hello...FNG in San Diego

  • I've been a SCUBA diver for 10 years. In that time I've grown to appreciate and respect the ocean. I've been collecting lobsters on SCUBA as well as doing some breath-hold spearing in Belize. My buddies bought me a really nice midhandle gun. My feeling is spearing on SCUBA isn't sporting...my goal is to learn to freedive...I'm green as it gets. I grew up in the water and am in good shape. There's a lot to learn. In the mean-time I'm gonna say a bunch of stupid stuff...bear with me...I'll do my best to learn.

  • Welcome, San Diego has a couple great freedive clubs if your interested. One meets in La Jolla.

  • Welcome.
I do some breath hold spearing in Belize too. Where did you go when you were here?

We started in Placencia...picked up a 46' Catamaran and cruised the cays basically from the Blue Hole to Honduras. We shot a lot of small fish, grabbed lobster, and pole speared squid. We ate ourselves sick (our buddy is a Chef).

Thanks...I would like the info...I'm probably as likely to spear myself as anything else at this point.
