the sear was cast well but was way to hard to drill [ burnt 3 brand new titanium drill bits and 2 tungsten bits ] will try a different alloy .

I think to make a hole they'd charge at least half the cost of a complete mech. Try a masonry bit, they're carbide tipped and cheap.

Before you expend too much effort check the alloy out for rusting by putting the pieces you cut off (the header) into a cup of saltwater. Also some castings can be brittle, so see how a piece responds to bending by putting it in a vice. Then you can proceed with the detail finishing of the components.

these alloys are made for metal dentures , they are strong [rigid] but can be bent many times before breaking to enable denture adjustments they will also NEVER rust [ once left a piece of alloy in a drain that released soap and chlorine from a washer for 7 years and it kept its mirror shine . however even though i cast these parts i decided not to machine them because it is easier to cut the trigger out of flat stainless stock . i would be posting pics on my pitch pine speargun thread .
