Any info/feedback on these guns? Hearing through some parties that they are pretty good especially the blue water 666 but I am looking for a reef gun.
Way overdue on retiring my Biller 55 and want to go hybrid for my reef gun, mostly on the reef I target midwater species and want a versatile gun that can take out snapper blah blah and midwater fast moving species.
Looking at the 59 inch reef hybrid and as I cant ever get my hands on the guns before buying I rely on your opinions here to make as informed a choice as possible

Not familiar with them. Sorry

Why don't you just get a 110-120 railgun? Keep it simple.
Speardiver store has a very nice alluminum railgun at a very reasonable price.
Tell Dan you know me and he will treat you well...

hahahahaahahahahahahahahah more like add on a beefy % if I say your name ... Never been a fan of tube guns Marco or for sure I would go with a speardiver gun or RA... But not my cup of tea... Love the idea of the mass of a wood gun with the ability to track fast

I just looked at the 666 on line, I would shoot some one's Hybrid before you invest 900 clams.
Any tube or wood barrel with 3- 5/8s bands wrapped on the out side is not going to be a ''fast tracker''.
Craig's list here in Cali and FleeBay always have somebody's hybird dream gun for sale, a lot have only missed fish a few times before their ''expert'' owners move on to something else that ''shoots like a laser''.:DNow if you like windsurfers and wood boats go for the Hybird, is has Carbon fiber and pretty wood.;)

The jury's still out on the definition.
Wood/metal tube
Wood/carbon tube
Carbon/metal tube
They were ''invented'' when someone broke the muzzle off a wood gun, and had a broken metal tube gun he hacked the end off of.;)Cheers, Don

yeah to me they look like a ''cheap'' way to extend a short wood gun like what they use to do with the old Champion gun and a length of aluminium tubing .

It allows use of a good stand alone trigger mechanism with a pipe. I see no other advantage. The "more mass to absorb recoil" idea simply doesn't work, as the mass is at the back of the gun not at the front where it's needed to control muzzle lift. People get the hybrids thinking they can add more band power, and the gun ends up shooting erratically. To shoot decent they need to be powered just like a pipe gun. Nowadays there are production pipe guns with good full stainless steel triggers, so the hybrid is obsolete IMO. They look pretty and allow for some creativity in the building of the gun, that's about it. If someone likes how something looks, they'll find all the theoretical reasons necessary to convince themselves why it's the ultimate solution to their spearfishing needs.

Thought i smelt woodguy delerin personally Jeb, so what kind of car? could be Tin man though as that is for sure a AR 15 handle...
Hank has murdered some pretty big fish with his hybrids and so have many other very good divers, plus some pretty good builders keep experimenting with them I have seen online so not sure if its all smoke and mirrors IMO. Seems to be the preferred gun of modern Wahoo hunters but as I have never fired one I am only speaking from what I have seen and read online.
Dan I read from Mr Wong that the wood sections primary function is allowing for good ballast to absorb recoil, but as I said I am only repeating what I have read.
Is there anyone here who has shot one who would like to share actual experience with this particular gun rather than speculation? -
I have a Camry from 2002. And four of Jeff's muzzles on my guns. I am pretty confident AND don't have much on the line hahaha
