Awesome!
hahaha
Nice pinup
He does some nice work.
Damn he's got some bad ass stuff on his site. I like the piece you chose Don!
I bought an antique speargun that appears to be the same pictured with the Ginger. $10 bucks at a garage sale!! While you boyz were looking at the girl, I was looking at the gun...maybe I need help?! The gun I have is a Rene Cavalero, built I believe in Marseille France. I've refurbished the gun a bit and it is the first gun all my younger kids shot in the pool. Now if I can just get that bikini for my hot wife my life will be imitating art! Auwe!!!!
Aloha
Another look:
Here is another pinup girl I have from the 50's. The Esquire Girl.
Wicks was an all-around artist, in a career that included NASA and postage stamps, but he excelled at two subjects in particular: wings and women. During WW2, he worked for Lockheed, contributing artwork for fighters and bombers that was used both in ad campaigns and in pilot handbooks. During the same period, Howard Hughes tapped him to do poster work for RKO, most memorably for Jane Russell in The Outlaw. Magazine illustration for Esquire, Redbook, Saturday Evening Post.
Cheers, Don
