Teak sea or Abellan denton

    Planning getting another wood speargun.In tahiti,there is only one shop selling wood speargun(teak sea).I try to search the web and it seems like I only can get the Denton direct from Abellan.Thinking to get a 130.
    Anyone hae any experience with the teak sea?The teak sea model is about$1000++.While today I get a reply from Abellan,the 130 is about $685.So plus shipping and Tax,I think will be around $1000 arrive here.
    So,teak sea or denton??:confused1:

    The shaft diameter and consequently the power of the speargun should be the first thing you decide on. It's directly related to the kind of hunting you'll be doing/fish you'll be targeting. I take it you'll be bottom hunting with possibility of pelagics passing through?


    Will you be using a reel or float line?

    Both gun will have reel intstall.But will use a float line when hunting in the pass for dogtooth.


    Heard that the denton is a very good gun but i cannot find any review on the teak sea.

    Any thought for the Teak sea Gun?Went to the local shop and the seller told me he has using this brand for 10 years with no problem,shoot straight....
    For the teak sea,I was looking at the Teak sea hyperion 135,with reel,4 x14mm band and 7.5mm shaft.The best price he gave me was $USD1250.
    The Denton 130 total price arrive here will be the same.Just don't know which one to choose?:confused1:

    I like my Denton but have not used a teak sea. I have only seen one once in person I think. That said I've only heard good things about them. Have you used the search function on this and other forums to search for the teak sea gun in threads.     The Abellan Denton has seen many improvements over the years and is in my opinion the better designed gun ,almost perfect.

    Finally got my teak sea hyperion last week.Can't wait to try it...I'm still preparing for the bungee and float line.Will try it on July:D

    You need a powerful speargun with float & bungee if spearing Doggies in the pass. Don Paul is the only one on the forum that has speared in the pass that I'm aware of - maybe Don will chime in. I've heard the trick is to get your Doggie in hand before the men in grey take him :@

    We usually hunt the doggie either earlyin the morning or evening.They came up for food.After that,they went deep.Yeah ,got to be fast when you get the doggie.There is at least about more than 3 sharks will atttack the tuna when you spear them.A lot of sharks at the passage.

    Contrary,I never seen a mackeral.And only see it in photo!!:D
