I'm a 65 year old Canadian who should have been born on the ocean rather than the prairies. I've had spearguns since I was a teenager in Alberta, shooting perch and pike. Now, in Ontario, spearfishing is 99% nonexistent due to regulations. I took a freediving course from MT Solomons as my 60th birthday present to myself, in La Pas, Mx. I have now made friends in Cuba, Mexico, and Panama, and make sure I get out every time I can when on vacation. I always take and donate needed spearfishing equipment to my Cuban buddies as most of what we take for granted is made of unobtanium to them. Recently we spent three weeks on the west coast of the Azuero peninsula of Panama where the fishing is as pristine as it gets. I'm hoping to retire there and pursue los pescados further.
Peace to all,
Mark (aka Markusfugit)
