Marco!!!
Actually I was diving with a Beuchat 3.5mm Reversible but the water was warm enough to do it Tarzan style.
The short sleeve is just a rashguard.

Dan,
Speafishing here is awesome from early June through late October. After that.....well...hyibernate until next summer. I miss Miami!:(
However, I must admit, I've yet to pike down and not see a shootable fish. The fishery here is awesome! so long as you're comfortable in less than 10 foot viz.
Here's another pic...Miami Representing!!!!! haha! I must admit, I lost out on the pool cause I signed up for biggest Tog (tautog) but wound up with heaviest stringer (no money) :(. I missed out on just about an ounce...oh well, next time!
Dan!... you'll always be "da man!"
Well, It's been a while since I last posted on this forum and I must admit that I feel somewhat guilty being that most of my close spearo friends frequent this site. I miss spearing the tropics and as some of you may know, I now reside in Massachusetts. I've come to know some extraordinary spearos as I have in Puerto Rico and of course Miami and would like to somehow introduce an exemplary Argentinian Spearo by the name of Javier who will soon be moving to West Palm Beach, FL. He has hosted an event by the name of "Boston Kill n Grill" on another forum and will hopefully make the Speardiver.com transition soon. We had great fun at the last gathering (yesterday) and would like to share some pics...
What's up Dan and Rolo!
A Cuban spearfisherman in Miami taught me a neat trick for handling cudas. Once you have the shaft at hand, turn the fish over (belly up) and they automatically "freeze", then grab its gills ASAP. Works for me all the time.
Simply incredible! Thanks for sharing Marco.
vas a amargar la existencia, dejalo que viva feliz en lo que le dan una multa
y lo instryen, cuando eso pase, comprale una cervesa y le das unas plamaditas
en la espalda y le dices de mi parte que bienvenido al grupo.

En realidad fue el 28 de diciembre a las 11:59 p.m.;)..so it's old news...but Great news.
Thanks guys! Just got back from "work" and saw the thread....sleepless nights once again!
Buena pesca!
I knew it was a matter of time before the Mexicans started to employ their unbeleivable craftsmanship into speargun making. My wife went to med school in Guadalajara and always bragged about the handmaking skills of the locals. It is truly obvious by the pics attached. Thanks!
Julio
Nice shot placement on both fish! That's a fat parrotfish.
Psychobilly brings up a good point. I'd like to see how the lionfish population is going to be kept at bay from then on. If they think it's a problem now...................
I can't speak for the rest of the Island reefs but as far as where I frequent (Vieques; Punta Arena, Pozuelo, Salinas and Patilla) the only reef damage I've seen are commercial fishing boat's anchor ropes along with their trademark grapnels wrapped around coral heads and longlines strewn throughout the reef. The rest of the reef life is plentyful. Parrotfish are everywhere and of all species.
Oh, did I forget to mention that while we spearos are sitting at home due to bad weather or low vis, the R&R fishermen and commercial fleet are out there pulling some fish tonnage and dragging their anchors?...yeah...we're the problem...BS!!!!!
Maybe they should have a depth limit of say 40 + feet so that all barrier reefs (nurseries) are off limits to spearfishing and we can only hunt in the same waters as the commercial fleet. Couple that with a spearfishing license/fee and we can hopefully play an even field. My 2 cts.

p.s. Pucho, se nos jodio el Kiosquito Criollo!:(
Puuuuuuchoooo!!!!
It's a shame we live so far apart. We could make a killing setting up shop here on the Island. Thanks for the comments.
Julio
Anthony,
Me avisas el dia anterior y nos tiramos. Necesito la practica para el torneo.
Dan,
Thanks dude!
BTW, this gun shoots awesome, even with only three bands. Almost no recoil due to the weight and mass.
