I like the mar-style for simplicity, with the combination of the pinch weights From Tim man that is my choice.

Where the hell has common curiosity at the ramp and on the water gone.
Recently I have experienced RAMP RAGE , with what can only be describe as assholes. People whom clog the ramp with what in my eyes is common since. I not picking on the occasional boater that may need help with getting out of the way because he is alone, but the jackasses that know that they are in the F*%$# way.
Additionally when we got to our 1st site we were all alone after the second dive I herd a boat that sounded close. So I surfaced with my gun leading the way. I was shocked not only to see that the boat had a four bade prop with a chipped on one of them. Yea he was that close!!!! I calmly asked what his f&*^%& problem was and he ignored me. But his boyfriend didn't , “Sorry dude, relax we can move “ I can only say that if my kids had not been on board I probably would be posting this from prison.

3 Mil
Green
WOW!!!!! This is my first open cell suit what a difference.
We have been going out this last week. I have had no problems. Water temp on surface 71-72 depth 25-30' water temp on bottom COLD. ??????? The suit is like nothing I've worn before.
Do the 5-7 mil have the same feel?
I like diving with a hood, but this one hugs the neck better, it does not allow for any dead space. The only time I felt cold water was after sitting on the gunnel resting between sites, and when I jumped in feet first a little water slid in, COLD was an understatement. If not for my friends needing to get out an unable to warm up I could have dove another hour + .
Thanks Dan

I agree. but also add, where is his buddy? I know some of you dive alone, but when I am hunting I want a buddy.

Alot of key point Buster. I wish I the answers.
Further info showed that recently moved back to Fl and was really excited to be back. He did have some expierience diving but as far as equip. A weight belt and gun.
The fin off is what keeps comming up in conversations . This is a good point on proper fitting equip and saftey.
I agree with you LET GO
even letting go of the gun and releasing a weight belt still sounds like trouble
Furhter info was it had been aprox 1 year since last dive, this cannot be confirmened, but could explain how he could handle water temp right now with no suit?????? for a short time.

don't know.
I just posted this for a friend that was reading other positing around the net and getting a little :angry5: because of being misineformend.
Discussing this I don't beleive he was intending on diving to 115'. As other diving sites have sugested.:nono: I beleive his targets were AJ's in the midwater. (30") range .
That being the case. If someone with a little more expirence could comment on the techniques of bigger more powerfull fish hunting. That would be great.

Its always sad, but worse is not learning from it.
A couple of persons I know and work with new him. Here is what I have herd.
There were aprox. 4 people on board and they were around 28 miles offshore, 115ft of water. They were fishing on a trawlier with 50' of releif. They caught a few on Hook and line. The AJ's could be seen at around 30'. "Ron " This is the missing divers name. Jumped in, when he did not return to the surface another person on board doned a dive tank and jumped in to search. All that was found was a fin.

Wood Guy made the handle, as soon as I receive it the shape lock project begins.
Length of the blank is 50", the butt end of the shaft is approx 6" from the back of the blank, or 44" from the nose. So the shaft will have to be 44" plus whatever overhang you want in front of the gun after talking with Dan and other info gather via here I decided to go with around a 13" overhang.
The exact measurement of the stock we will have to ask Wood guy to post or wait untill I receive it.

i use the marks to gauge before i shoot, look at the fish, then the gun then the fish, if i have to look again, it short
Good point LB,
Fish is probably gone anyway:laughing3:

Taboo?? I can relate but, not talking about it would in my eyes would be coward es.
So U shoot a short.
How the hell do you learn if not from experience.
I personally don't like the feeling of shotting a short but it has happened am I am glad, not learning from it would be irresponsible

That sucks for the ones that don't measure up, get shot and left for dead:)

Sorry forgot to ask this couple of weeks ago and just occurred to me again, Getting old sucks:D

Thanks for posting the simple verson, Dan
I saw a local new crew go into a Cuban family restaurant and the mother said just silt open and dip it "she stressed it numerous times" dip it 3x then let it alone about 1 hour.
We are starting to catch them in the stone traps and I wanted to try them.
would you Ceviche it the same way you would any other fish ????
