Nice report. You must be a homer fan to do all these mods to make it work...
Thanks Marco.
I am a Pursuit fan
and like both the simple and the complex. I love seeing if a engineer has left any performance on the drawing board or on the board room floor when the bean counters have their way controlling costs at the sake of performance.Every gun design is a compromise in some ways, performance verses cost and dependability. My friend in Mexico has a Mares 130 Comp gun with 27 years of use, he just now resealed the gun due to a slight air leak. Now that was and is a great gun. I will post picts of mine some day, but I would never mod that gun from stock....too much history and good times. If our buddy Dan keeps going forward with his well thought out quality products, I will always be a fan.
I would love to hear your Omer story some day.Cheers, Don

Nice shot on the bonito BTW, I know how hard they are to hit.
Thanks Brother...Its a baby and was a challenge to hit without messing up the meat, but is good practice
for the real deal later.Cheers, Don

Thanks for your answer. There is not one story but many. I will tell you when I have some spare time. Maybe in another post. But I don't know if it is politically correct to bash a Manufacturer in a public forum.
-
c'mon Marco, probably Don's thread is not the place, but we've all heard your omer stories many times. I even made you this special no homer avatar remember <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x"> All of a sudden you've grown a politically correct conscience?

For my part omer has a few things that are good; masks, footpockets etc. Check out their new enclosed track pipe gun, innovative..

Nice ET cross section Dan,...... It has taken industry over twenty years to do a hydro formed metal barrel
with the same profile as a John Warren Gun of past.
I wounder what cutter size I would to open up the track if I had one ?
;)You know one thing cool about my old ET I could shoot a short very stiff 38''3/8 shaft in a long gun but I'll talk about it a vintage thread some day.
Cheers Don
Edit.. found a old John Warren speargun image. Two works of art side by side.
-
Innovative for sure is, but have you take a second to think about alluminum to stainless contact and electrolisis? Will that be noisy? I'm sure it is! How long will the anodizing coating will last with the shaft / barrel contact?
I'm 99.99% sure that their Products are designed by architects and not Engineers. I'm a Mechanical Engineer and have nothing against architects, but in my country we say Zapatero a sus zapatos" (Do what you know how to do).
Dan: Thanks for the avatar. I will put it in use.

What about every other pipe gun that has an aluminum barrel, including your dear Rob Allen?
-
My metal guns I use with the exception of the fart gun have zinks and zink chromate paint along with Mil Spec hard anodize on some parts.
I may make the sharks want to rub their heads on it more though.
Cheers, Don

They are not enclosed track and yes, they are noisy. But according to studies (I don't know who studies spearguns science), the shaft does aquaplaning after is shot. I don't see how can the directo contact be avoided in an enclosed track.
Anyway, I won't buy anything from them again. Ever. :nono:

it may do the same thing in an enclosed track,, llike hydroplaing on all sides, keeping a water barrier between the barrel and shaft until it leaves the gun completely,, but maybe not..
don have u finished all the mods u want with the airbalete yet?

No way... I have just started. <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x"> Is a house ever done or a guy ever finished messing with his hotrod ?
I have not played with a air gun for a long time ,I'm just having fun as I did thirty years ago as me and a friend John Warren pushed the envelope with game guns. The only thing new here is the shape of the
barrel. The mods I'm doing have been done for twenty years as standard performance tweeks. Vacuum barrel, enlarged ports, and a snubber able to handle the energy of increased speed of the piston without cracking . I don't watch ball sports except my kid's baseball so this is my way of kicking back.Cheers, Don

Here are two pieces of Mango wood I will be using to shape a handle for the Nitrobalete next month.
I floated some Olive wood and felt it is too dense, I also love the crazy flip flopping grain reflection in the sun light from the Mango, although not shown in the picture.Cheers, Don

Beautiful. Stunning
-
Yeah, I've never seen wood like it. I'd save it for a wood gun though.
