Omer Airbalete 110

  • Thanks Marco, I remember the gun but never knew that they made a 145 ataque. (attack in English)
I have never seen one on ebay, just the smaller Cobra's. With a little cuttle fish shaped end grain balsa on the front to keep it from being nose heavy, that gun could be a killer in the kelp stringers.

  • My friend Peter from Australia (aka Popgun Pete) and professor fart gun science wondered what was up with my Titan trigger? as it is supposed to be black plastic. Pete is so not into bling bling and a diamond ring so I reinstalled the stock unit as not to F'up gun history.:D;) All is well once more, thanks Peter for the keen eye.
I need you here on this forum to keep me in line.:toast::toast:

  • Do you have any pictures of your flasher tape design on your guns? Quote:hank

Hank, here is the flasher fish my boy cut out for my air gun, I put these at the front of all my all my game guns.
I don't use them in French Poly because the Gray Reef Sharks like them too much.

    Cheers, Don

  • Why do i have the feeling that you have some upcoming mods pertaining to this sear :D

Actually I did them last year around the time of post # 157, but became paranoid about some one having a mis fire if they didn't have a micrometer to measure with or skilled hands. After I get a duty cycle of a hundred shots at 28 to 30 bar and dissemble and inspect parts, I will post the images and mods I carried out with a disclaimer. I will say my gun now engages the sear with a more positive and audible click. I found the silicon grease slows down the sear latch return to lock speed, so I first lengthened the spring for starters. Any trigger or sear changes could have fatal results and are not recommended ,

  • After twenty years of searching and a friend in Florida, Airbalete gets a big brother: the 140 cm Mares Bazooka model 5301. Shoots a 10mm shaft from over-sized components, features three powers. Look for a separate thread in a few days.

    Cheers Don

  • Don, nice job on the Airablete.

The bazooka looks like new. Have any luck finding replacement parts for it?

Thanks mate, planning to harvest some game fish with the Arbi next weekend scouting for a Comp.

The Bazooka is going to be my winter project, I'm planing to store the outer barrel and fab some new bits from
Ti. Having a lathe and friends in Italy helps. Check back this winter for updates on the big fart gun.

  • I've been looking online for information on that Bazooka as you know it's pretty scarce. Do you think the recoil (midhandle) will effect the shot? There was a guy online sometime back who fabricated a mid handle Cyrano and I was thinking about trying it on an old Cressi I have. I never shot a mid handle speargun, band or rubber but with the visibility we have here in Rhode Island it may work out well.

Morty, sorry I missed your post about the mid handle conversion to your Cressi. If the vis is that poor I would just go with a 100 cm air gun with dry barrel kit. I have one of Dan's 110 pneumatics that I will convert this winter when the dive season end's ( Nov)

This thread will get allot more interesting when I mount the Go Pro soon.

  • I never thought a Pneumatic build would get this many hits here on Speardiver.com...
Look for a new thread in the Speargun section this weekend for some images of guns that started my passion for air springs.

    All the best, Don Paul:toast::toast:

  • I had a video of the new Sporasub One 2012 airgun prototype that may be in the 2012 catalog due out this week.
The bad news is Pesca Sub pulled the utube after Sporasub told them to wait for the formal release.
The Sporasub One Pneumatic looks a Airbalete but with new cuddle bone shaped tank and what looks like a STC vacuum kit and slide ring free shaft. Word on the street is many of the Airbalete's issues have been addressed. I hope the sales of the Airbalete have helped Sporasub offer the new gun with out price increases over the old gun, time will tell.

My tweaked and modded Arbi will be getting a newly designed Tomba dry barrel in a lighter and more hydrodynamic form. Stay tuned in 2012 for a return to the darkside......now I just need a boat.;)

I'll post the new airgun utube as soon as it's released.
