I can tell you one thing... he quit interacting with rattle snakes last year. My old friend lost his finger after things went very bad after a bite from a rattle snake. Manny is a trip.

yeah , that's many. that gator is a little big for that kind of stunt because he is swimming. the way my dad used to catch them was at night but with the water not deeper than the chest. used a flash light to locate them , when they sank, then he'll locate them with the feet and then reach down and grab it. that's some exciting shit.

Why? I find these so silly. Unless you want to eat the animal, leave it alone. I'm not into these sort of "stunts".

I agree. But sometimes you do it just to know that you can, and it's no small feat. Doing it for profit/selling vids is another matter, and sensationalizing it is absurd. Watching the more credible of these types of shows on Animal planet I often feel that they're harassing the animals under the thin veil of "education" and don't like the feeling of being taken for a fool who doesn't realize it. Consider though that if you watch then you've contributed to the demand. And what the heck, in the end it's just a nasty gator or shark

pretty ineresting ideas...i feel that exploiting animals for entertainment is wrong, but I think that sensationalizing animals to raise awareness abouit a species or to increase the desire for conservation, something like Steve Irwin, is a good idea.

It is a fine line and can easy become a stunt with no purpose.
Shark swiming is a great example. it can dispell a lot of bad images about sharks which prevent them from being slaughtered by ignorant, scared people...but they are done without thought a lot and serve to increase bad feelings when they chum up the waters and showcase them as "maneaters" like some of the south african GWS dives do.

manny lives here locally in south florida. I myself and friends have seen him out in the swamps with his buddies screwing around even when the cameras arent on him. hes cool but definately nuts
