Yes, i have used a pole spear before. I am 5 feet 8 inches.
you are tall enough to use almost any gun . the problem is if you are strong enough. so i guess what you need to use are bands that you can pull. ...I guess....
So the size gun doesn't matter, just the size of the band?
It is a combination of many factors. The length, the thickness and number of bands
look at any railguns in the 90-120 range. rob allen, mako, hammmerhead, etc.
the size of the gun does matter, u jsut may need looser bands at first
How much money are you ready to spend on a speargun? Do you have a preference for a pneumatic or a band gun? If band gun hip or chest loading?
I would say a biller 36" or 48 you can use longer bands until you get loading down , you can get one cheap on cl or eBay so if you have to drop it it's not a big deal . It's also heavyer than a euro so there will be less recoil. You can also customize them cheaply and make them into a better gun by takeing off the slide ring and drilling the shaft and ataching the line straight to the shaft . You will hear a lot of guys put down billers but the truth is they work ,and with a line shaft they will shoot the same as any euro with the same shaft and band setup just with less recoil

To dan, Probably 100-200 dollars. I don't have much of a preference but i like the wooden ones.
I like what Phil and steven said.
A 100cm railgun w two slightly long 5/8" bands should do you well for a long time
For that money and a wood gun the only thing you'll find is what Phil suggested.
What would be the best pneumatic gun in my price range?
Seac Asso. If you could find a used Mares Cyrano that would be better.
I would buy this one.. it would be hard to build for the price Dan is giving it away for. You could lengthen the bands a little if needed, or shoot with 1 band for close shots.
Cheers, Don
i got a cyrano at a thrift store use for 30 dollar i pain it and rigg it the way i like it . you can try that to start

Hey Geokat, I sent you an email. Let me know if that's helpful.
The comment about a polespear is a good one - becoming proficient with a polespear, especially a 3-prong, makes for a very strong hunting skill set.
To Kolt- I have not gotten the email yet, can you re-send it?
