Oh how I miss being on a boat with that blue float line.. For upload to youtube use DivX in full resolution, 480 x 720.

resolution continues to suck??? only when uploaded though before looks awesome??

First of all you're not filming in R5 setting with the camera because there's a vignette effect.
You're not converting the file for viewing good resolution on youtube. Notice that the highest resolution you can choose with your video is 360. Now check in this video, when you click on the little arrow the choice of resolutions goes up to 1080.

thanks Dan, working out this learning curve bfore i cancompile better together.

is the resolution any better?

Hard to say. I'm thinking the vis wasn't that good. If you have some out of the water footage it would be easier to tell. Nice thing about youtube is that it tells you the resolution of the video.

here is youtube in 1080, thanks for all your help my friend.

Dan, when you upload to youtube in DivX in full resolution, 480 x 720. is this 1080 high definition??
Im guessing not? Why do you prefer this setting rather than mpeg-4 in 1080? What is the difference?
thanks

Alan,
Are you not using a float or a reel? Asking based on that mutton video.

Vimeo will always look better than youtube.
Your videos should be shot in 1080p (R5 mode). (1920×1080) format
It takes a decent computer to work with 1080p and make sure your software can do 1080p. If not, just use 720p. There wont be a big difference.
