Broward Beach Conditions

    I will be at Dania tomorrow with my family. gonna go snorkling with my son (10 years old) He will have a boogie board as well. I hope he can get the hang of snorkling and even diving down if he can.

    Scotts ear seems healed :thumbup:
    The sub was out there again today on manouvers^^
    I got 2 small reef fish, but Scott got a very, very nice hog on the way in
    Hope he posts pictures and story.
    Met up with 2 of our spearos on the beach when we got back^^
    Had to poke a nurse shark away to stop it from eating my chum bag^^

    hau was the water temperetaure really 73 degees? i would of figured it might of warmed up a bit already.


    did you dive in a 3mm wetsuit? and how did you feel in it?


    reason im asking is im looking to get a 1.5 mm suit for 76-80 degree water. thanks

    The top of the water HAS warmed up.
    Remember I am old and decrepite and get cold easy. I have been wearing a 1.5mm 1 piece AND a 3mm 1 piece AND a 3mm hooded vest up until yesterday. Today was my second day wearing just my 1.5 and 3mm suits. I did not get cold today. Please to remember that I yak spear and am in the water sometimes for 6-9hours straight. Also, my suits are all 1 piece suits which are colder then a two piece suit. On the other hand, Stevo has been wearing just a 3mm shorty all winter:0
    I like to have too much neoprene on instead of not enough. I had a friend years ago that got seperated from his boat and spent 23 hours in the water till rescued the next day.:(

    spearos----me and Stevo and maybe others are planing on meeting up at Dania pier at aprox 8am tomorrow 4-11 [Sat] if anyone would like to join us. Any and all are welcome. Marine forecast is 2 f or less, 5-10knot winds.
    Our dive plan will be posted in the usuall place if anyone comes latter and wants to join us^^

    Me and Stevo on the 2nd reef today. Stevo got several nice fish and I got 5 reef fish but nothing good, no macks and no hogs.
    Nurse shark grabbed my chum bag and drug my yak 25 yards before he ripped the bag off the line:0
    I heard my anchor bounceing across the reef and went to find the nurse shark dragging my anchor line and yak. Guess I'll have to stop hanging my chum bag from my anchor line:rolleyes:
    At the end of the dive I could not get my anchor unhooked and had to dive down to get it unhooked. As soon as I got into the water there was a 3 foot mack right under my yak and me with no gun.:(

    I poked a couple sharks off his chum bag, but they would always come back. It was a pretty constistant sound throughout the day, :hau:'s anchor line being dragged and boat engines. My dry bag to the GPS got tore and it flooded, but over all it was a great day.:thumbup:

    Me, Scott and Hia-Leah on the second reef today.
    The parking lot was almost full at 8am when I got there [sunrise Easter services]
    Flat seas:), OK viz:)very few fish?(Beautiful day on the water with friends and spearin fish:thumbup:
    I got 1 18 in hog and 2 14in triggers. Hia-Leah got a nice hog and maybe more. Scott got a fish or 2 I think and had a nice fish tear off. Maybe they will log on an write their stories:)

    that reef was gorgeous, I just wanted to swim under all those rocks.
    Unfortunately, there were lobs everywhere teasing me, and there was a huge one scurrying about as if he knew the season had closed
    We gotta hit the third one hau
