Today was almost a copy of yesterday
Only saw and got 2 hogs today:)

  • Every asshole with a boat was out today and the weather report I read last night was way off. "isolated t-storms" go as far as the eye can see in every direction... anyway I shot my first spanish mackerel today with the odor (HA and people say its slow) other than that no fish, but the macs were all over again I think I saw 7 total that I got within gun range but not polespear range. Biggest ones I saw today were around 20 inches. also saw one hog in the typical 12-14 inch range.

  • hhaha, the trusty weather service.
anyway got out with hau and shalllowrunner and scott today
we went out a little further than we realized to about 60 feet depth on the outside of the second.. i dropped in there with prob 50 feet of viz and a ripping current. saw a few nice muttons but couldnt get a goood drop on any oof them due to to current, so i dicked around there then met up with the other guys in shallower water. didnt see any fish on top of the second nor on the way in.
noone lsot any gear or got hurt while we paddled through the storm though so all in all a good day. and all the rain gave us a good rinsing which is a BONUS!

Good representation of the Plastic Navy today with: ShallowRunner, Scott, sdeisen and me out there braving the stormy seas:)
We started out in 60fsw with lightening way out east of us and ended up 3 hours later in 25fsw hanging onto our yaks due to the high wind, seas and current.:(
No one got a shootable fish in 3 hours :(
Nice thing about today was we lost no gear and we got to sit in the parking lot after spearing, watching the ladies jog by as we talked spearin :toast:

  • Hau, sdeisen, Scott, nice hunting and BS'ing in the lot with you yesterday. I only managed the one snapper but it was certainly a nice day all in all; just need to get a smaller yak; that monster was killer coming in against the wind and current. Hopefully the weather will improve by the weekend and we can get out again. Slainte. :toast:

  • sounds like a good day if not a good dive.

I am away again this weekend but I am dying to get out with you guys...BBQ on the 21st or 22nd?

Yea man, can't think of a better way to spend the day regardless of fish caught; though that is always a nice bonus.

I will be in the Keys spearing Marathon that weekend, but the following I am down for sure for the spear/BBQ day.

Paddled out in threatening weather but lucked out and could spear for 5 hours :)

Saw fish today an got 1 porgy and one 17in hog
I was just happy to be able to get out there again today <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x">

Saw 3 yak spearos leave the beach just after I made shore.
They paddled out half way to the first reef and anchored up in the 2-3f seas.
Hope they had a good dive

Thanks for having me, I will definitely be joining you again soon. Being able to get out every day; you truly have it made brother. As for the weather, once I get a smaller yak it shouldn't be an issue; that monster just grabs too much wind. Thanks again.:toast::toast::toast:

  • But on the up side, days like this I don't feel so bad for wasting them at work. Plus, now you can get more than just a few hours to sleep. Gotta look at the positive.

Sdeisen, mike, my new dive buddy and me today.
Above water conditions were perfect, but the current picked up and there was NO viz.:(
    Viz was crap:(
I didn't even take the gun out of the yak:(
But I had a great day on/in the water with my new dive buddy today:thumbup:
