Another near perfect yak freediving spearfishing day
I could see the reflections of the condos on the surface of the sea
Viz was lower than I had hoped but the clear sky, lack of waves and warm air
made up for the lack of viz and lack of fish.
A school of 20-30 macs swam around me, I dropped into the middle of them and shot a 35in one. :)
If u missed spearin today, u missed an epic yak freedive spearin weekend day

  • Got to get out off biscayne today. Had a little trouble with some congestion and I forgot to eat before so I also was having some bogus acid reflux that kept making me nauseated.

The water was clear and cold with about thirty feet of viz. Ocean was rough with 3-5 ft swells at a really tight period like every two seconds or less.

My buddies were fishing so I hung out on the edge of their bait and chum and picked off macs. I could have had a lot more but just wasn't feeling great and called it quits after bagging two twenty five or so inchers

Had a nice thirty plus inch king swim through the area twice but I was only diving w a 90 and fifty foot fl and he wasn't gonna let me get close enough to take a chance anyways.

Good weather and a nice day on the ocean always

    i like to spear fish

FINALLY got back into the water today
Seas were not smooth but do-able.
NO jellies or manOwars, but lots of garbage in the water
The water has warmed up to 74F and felt better already
I only saw and shot 1 hog and 1 mac today

  • went out after work today, viz was 30' from the surface and probably about 35-40 in all directions once below the first 5' of trash/jellyfish. water was green but the seas were flat, got 1 mac for dinner.

Today was another beautiful yak freediving spearfishing day with clear skies, flat seas, minimal current and ok viz
If there had been fish, today would have been perfect
Took me 7 1/2hours in the water to find 3 hogs :(
Today I cirssened my 2nd scupper pro that I just bought and hau modified
"Scupper pro gives you wings" ^^

  • Went out today south of port everglades. Viz was decent. 30ft in 30fsw and 20fsw. Deepest we went today was 35ft. We were looking for some late season bugs and got 12 bugs between the two of us. Had to work really hard for them and they were all scattered. Weather was gorgeous, seas were flat, sun was out, and the water is warming up! I was able to survive today with my 1.5mm mako, but would still recommend using a 3mm open cell.

Besides the bugs, we got two hogs and a cero to top it all off.

    Great day on the water!

  • Went south of Pompano pier to the buoys after work yesterday and got one Cero and one Spanish. Missed a few other macs. No Jellies or boat traffic, viz at least 35 with light waves. Good results for last hours of daylight

  • dove today after work. wind, waves and current all picked up. current out of the north, waves around 2', unfortunately viz dropped to 20' in the best places and out on the second reef it was 15'. I dove repeatedly to see if the murk was just at the surface but even at the bottom viz was minimal. ended up finding a nice rock in a big area of soft corals and got 4 bugs. macs are very abundant in this area lately in between the first and second reefs. I got ambushed from behind by a big school of small spanish but only had a 3 prong polespear.

  • dove after work as well in boca from six to 8 and had same conditions,, current got rippin, but the viz stayed at like 40 feet at least saw a lot of macs as well, but nothin hefty enough to enjoy.. diving the end of dusk is really nice.

Todays conditions were almost as good as yesterday
Sea was a little rougher, but my new scupper pro cloud behavied perfectly with less water intrusion than my blue scupper pro. "Scupper pro gives you wings"
Saw 3 dolphin today but again very few shootable fish, butt lots and lots of beach buns sighted. <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x">
