Saw no hogs but lucked out on two macs that got a little too curious <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x">
Again the viz started dropping before noon and the current went up to 1 1/2mph
I'm liking this Daylight Savings
Dan--my new scupper pro is snow white and has WAY less scratches on it than my old blue one.
Both are the 2 hatch model scupper pros.
Until now, my spare yak was the blue Hobie Adventure, but it is a 16f yak and is also heavier than the Scupper Pros. My gf is 124lbs and the Hobie was a little too big for her to handle on rougher and windier seas. There was no way she was gonna ride MY Scupper and me the Hobie, so I have been looking for another Scupper for a long time for her to use. I found this snow white one last week and have been hau modifying it just like my blue Scupper. The Hobie was a good yak for the 3 mile paddle/peddle out to the reefs in the Keys, but is just not needed for the 1-1 1/2mi reefs here in Broward.
I still have the Hobie as a back-up and in-case I get injured and cannot paddle the Scupper. The Hobie has the peddle drive. -
South of Port Everglades today
begin at 830am--------end at 1230pm
wind from N at 5mph---from NE at 12mph
current 1/2mph from N to S--zero current
viz 30f in 30fsw--------25f in 25f
seas less than 2f-------seas 2f
water temp 74F
72F 0% clouds-----80F 5% clouds overheadShort spearin day today due to work and adjusting the yak rack on my truck for the 2 Scuppers
More spearing and fishing boats out today so I just took it easy, not expecting to get much fish.
Saw a NICE mutton, but he was WAY too gun shy.
Saw one ManOwar and one hog as soon as I jumped in, dodged the ManOwar and the hog was only like 16in or so I let her keep feeding. But I had no mercy on a 34in mac that swam in to check me out <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x">
Tons of beach buns today
-
So when you're talking about water intrusion you mean the kayak's inner compartments?
-
Dan--yes sir, the old blue scupper does not have the hatch drain out channels molded in the hull.
-
Glad to hear lots of people got out over the last couple days. Looks like the wind is going to pick up but should flatten out thurs/fri I will probably be diving both if anyone wants to join. I saw somebody on a yellow yak on the second to the north side of anglin pier where I was at. If it was anyone on here let me know that's an area I frequent.

Hit Pompano drop off yesterday morning for a few hours with the GF. Viz was at least 40. only got 1 hog and 1 Mac. Did see a manta speeding by with Cobia in tow that was too far away to get to. Great day of exercise that yielded dinner as well, couldn't get any better.

The water has warmed up enough that I switched to my 3mm Pursuit blue camo top and 3mm Pursuit camo bottoms and dropped 2lbs off my weight belt.(I love that suit Dan)
Got 2 hogs and 1 mac today. -
Hogs showing back up?
-
LunkerBuster--yep, I'm seeing more hogs today for some reason

I must have seen 1/2 dozen hogs less than 16in today in the sand.:) -
Good news my friend. Good news indeed
-
Judah, I'm heading out tomorrow. will post a report. Most of it will be bugging before the season ends, then I can focus on those hogs again <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x">
But, I did see two shootable hogs last wednesday when I went. Also got a double limit of lobster for the boat

Got 2 hogs and 1 mac today.Hau I made the mistake of jumping in with my 1.5mm mako last wednesday. Oh man that was a mistake! I thought since the water is 76degrees that I would be fine, but within 2 hours I was freezing! Definitely still using my 3mm until it gets a lot warmer!

Report from today:
Viz sucked! <20ft in 40fsw. Top to bottom in 15fsw lol. Me and my buddy covered A LOT of ground today exploring a lot of new locations. The usual spots were all picked really clean as it is late in the season, but we were able to wrangle a few bugs out. Right before going in, we spotted two hogs one male one female. We got both of them. One was 14" and the male was 18.5". A really nice hog for the depth we were at!
Ended the day with 7 bugs, lots of work for them though. Last week we pulled 12 bugs out of the same areas.
