hopefully somebody without a cold got out today and enjoyed the great conditions as mush as I did. I had trouble with my head all day but pushed out to about 30' of water. my newly dyed mask is amazing but Ill post about that in the proper thread. I saw tons and tons of fish today, lots of small muttons and hogs. I saw one legal sized hog and muffed the shot. I saw a ~16" strawberry grouper but couldn't remember how big they had to be so we just had a staring contest on the bottom(he won). I saw 3-4 baitballs of pilchards ranging from 50 to what looked like hundreds of fish I was swarmed for 5 or so minutes and couldn't see anything around me a very cool experience. Never saw any predatory fish working them though. I didn't bring any fish home today but did successfully reduce the lionfish population by 1.
Viz: approaching 50' at high tide but dropped with the outgoing tide
Water temp: 78 - a bit cold for rashguard and boardshorts, im guessing the drop was due to the recent storms and west wind
Current: from the south, strong enough to be a nuisance but easy enough to overcome -
Thanks for the report.
