I use to wear a cressi eddy and even though I don't see it as a "needed" item its cool to be able to see your deepest dive of the day, longest breath hold etc.... It has been very reliable and easy to use.
Who likes a real dive watch?

I agree. A lot of dive gear nowadays is really expensive so I get my stuff used on Craigslist. I haven't found a good watch yet lol all of them just "need batteries"
-
Just a reminder, I started this thread to see the watches that guys like me who don't use dive computers are using. There are plenty of other posts about the virtues of freedive computers.

i have a nice watch that is my daily wear...it is a Tag heuer and when I dont want to wear my prowler i always have that on...I really like to know the time of day and be able to do a quick check when surfacing to guage surface interval...
i also wear my watch on my left hand andabout 70% obscured by my glove..i do this for a few reasons...
1 I never want to be distracted and looking at my watch habitually while under
2 it protects the face
3 i can control if it is flashing a lot of light around if i want it too or not.I think a dive watch that had a small digital readout with max depth and bottom time that would be perfect.
I really cannot imagine any advantage to the pure dive watch other than price

I haven't taken my F10 off in over a year...

Anybody tried this dive watch

Pretty awesome price tag!

It's rated to 100 meters so not a real dive watch.
Real world water resistance rating works like this:
10m - Watch may survive getting caught in the rain.
50m - You can probably take a shower with this watch.
100m - You can go swimming in a pool with it. But don't dive to the bottom at the deep end.
200m - Has a screw on cap and back, a real dive watch. -
But so is the Omer MIK1, does that make it also not a real dive watch. I think those ratings are applicable for general wear watches that may be occasionally be work in water, whereas the dive watches are pressure tested to a certain depth.
Omer MIK1. Instruments - computers Computers, Scubastore.com, buy, offers, dive

Anybody tried this dive watch
Amazon.com: Pyle Sports Snorkeling Master Watch: Sports & Outdoors
Pretty awesome price tag!
I think it's a cool unexpensive watch. Now, you must change the battery for the first time to see if it works again...

Don't have one, was just curious if anybody did.
Aeris - 100m rating also

hi Dan, that's a nice time piece, i use a SUUNTO core it's limit is 30m, being a diver it's not much use there but when free diving i make the best of it cause it's got a depth meter, a compass, alti & baro meter but the down side is cant change functions once in the water so i just use the depth meter:thumbsup2: take care and good hunting
