A memorial reef is an awesome idea, would be a headache to organise though over here - heaps of people create there own reef's though in the deeper water as there is not that much structure in the gulf.

We had one of our local divers taken by a GWS early in the year, and set up a memorial beside the dive spot.

We made it from re-claimed jetty pylons and boards, came up really good.

Awesome stuff, having done striped handles like that myself i know how much of a PITA they can be!

Looking forward to the finished pics! :cool2:

+1 Awesome gun as always mate.

Darrens a top bloke! The highlight of my once a year trip to Sydney is the catch up dive with him!:thumbsup2:

Definitely very popular over here in Australia, i haven't personally used them as i have a pair of Speardiver fins but from what i hear the owner is very experienced in working carbon. :)

Long drive from here (i think Whyalla is about 8 hrs away!)

    Will PM you my email.

How to! How to! How to!

Mate I drive to kalgoorlie tomorrow and should be in S.A in 4 days...... We are staying in a house right on the ocean and I will be drilling on an army base, the rigs going to need a couple of days to settle in then I'm on night shift for 6 weeks straight! So nothing to do between 6-11 every morning! Will send details of the address in a few days.

Darren, tried sending the barrel today but post said its to long so I'm looking for a courier now...... Any suggestions?

Awesome, i have a couple of days booked off for next week so should be able to do something! I haven't been out for ages so will be good to get out for a dive.

Iv always thought of carbon fins as gear for the blue water guys but after seeing all the battle scarred C90 I'm wondering would these work (or do they already) for the guys diving rock shelfs? Realizing I couldn't treat them anything like my plastic fins I'm just wondering if the up grade would last long enough to be worth it. Thanks.

I use my carbon Speardiver C90 for rock hopping all the time with no issues, they are still in great condition and i have broken plastic fins rockhopping!

I'm hijacking my own thread....... How do you make the inlays?? They don't look easy, I have seen loads of different people do the same style but yours actually look life like.....

Yeah it would have been nice to get that gun on the rocks and get some real pics...

I'll try and do a how to at some stage (next time i'm making one) - it'll be easier to explain that way. :thumbsup2:

    Back on topic!

Jono, I'm heading to S.A for a one month drill program, should have a two day R.D.O in between, weather permitting I would be keen for a swim. Boss will fly us into Adelaide for 48hrs. Will be towards the end of the month......

Let me know the exact dates and i will try and sort something out!

Will be a bit touch and go with the weather atm and it gets pretty quiet over winter anyway but will def. try and arrange something (i think a good mate has time off then also and was keen for a dive also).

Yeah that Tuna gun was a real cannon! The mack inlays came out better than i was expecting, have heaps more ab here also if anyone wants some made (its actually not that hard to do). The only annoying thing is that i had to get the gun posted before i could get any decent pics of it as if i didn't get it to its new owner by the weekend it would have been another 2 months at least before he could use it! I don't build guns to make money, i reckon i spend over 20+ hrs on that gun (its all for the love of it :thumbsup2:)

    Cheers

I personally would not plug and drill the bands directly into the barrel, it will be very difficult to get a good transition from the edge of the barrel to the band hole and this will also become a weak point when loading them up.

    Where are the barrel's from?

Stick those bad boys into a hybrid!! :cool2:

You can always get in touch with Tin man and get him to custom make you a couple of muzzles (they are very nice).

The muzzle that Dan sells is also nice, but i don't think it will work with that barrel ID (Dan?:confused1:)

Not sure on what sort of handle (if your in AUS atm you could always get in touch with superfrog as i think he sells a couple of different types).

    Cheers
