Last saturday, just landing from a business trip took a nap and got wet.
Was able to land this fat Dog snapper and a couple of pan size mangroves.
My son Alessandro with me in the picture. He wants to go with me every time!

Very nice Marco. I'm sure your son will be a great dive partner for you. What could be better.
Amazing.
Those are some nice fish. Your son looks really happy too.
Nice Jocu!
Fat Snapper!

He jumps in the water with me! 2 weeks ago he saw how I lost a wahoo (and a shaft) due to a reel miscoiling. I shot a blue runner in the deep and when ascending a school of 30 wahoos was swimming by me. I told him to put his gear and jump in. I was looking at him when reloading and coiling the reel and didn't pay attention that it was tangled.
I took out the knife from the sheath and used as a flasher in my left hand, so 3 of them came directly towards me. Shot the biggest (70 pounds maybe) and it took off! I had to decide very quickly if I wanted to keep my speargun or what... The reel line broke just where it was tangled.
The good thing is that he swam with the wahoos.
What reel line were you using?
Nice pic Marco! I love that fish cleaning station! Reminds me of stonework in Brasil.
Lucky your line broke, could have lost a gun!
That's cool Marco. Since my oldest son Jake is in the Philippines for another few months, my two stepsons go with me very weekend. 10 and 13 years old.
I've made some longer bands for a Riffe C3X and a Wong 55 for them so they can cock the guns. The older boy shot a 7 lb white margate last Saturday. Mo is already a "purist". He really just looks for snappers.
You son looks so stoked. Awesome.
glad it didnt turn into a loss story.
aslo good the boy gets to see how real and serious the undersea can be and how good, decisive, calm actions will save the day
Very nice history Marco:cool2:
