I talked to the guys Japsw recommended, unfortunately it is not offered for sale any more. I'll give it two weeks as I try to get caught up with the build, than the saw and Tig welder will be used to make the one I have fit.

Sorry here to hear Don, if you could get me the correct serial and year I may be able to find one for you
I have one of those on my Mercury 90. Pull cord is taped to the inside of the cowling. Not sure how to use it.

You remove the top cowling , hook the knot into the pulley notch , make
sure motor is in neutral, wind the rope clockwise, turn the ignition on
and hand the grip end to a able seaman. Then you yell pull you son's of
bitches, it a long F'n long swim back to the ramp you wankers.:D

I thought the best way to have the proper rewind unit for my motor hit FleeBay was to cut the pedestals of the 40hp one I have.
I'm only in this 40hp pull start the price of 4 pints, I wouldn't do this to a 400 $ part :nono:.....wait a min, that's BS...yeah I would...it all started with taking my toys apart to see what up. never quite grew out of it.:D
Mounted the flywheel bit and set the rewind hub down into it. It looks doable but I won't be posting the details.
This mod could kill some one if they don't get it right with fabrication and weld.
The top cowling even sets on top.:thumbsup2:

Radome and console are finished with sanding and the matt black epoxie treatment, bits are now getting final assembly.
The SS Shakespeare whip is going to my secondary ICOM DSC VHF. Tomorrow I'll sand and epoxie the CRRC's
transom.....beer time.

What a cool build. What are those handles for? So low to the ground.

Thanks Dan, I bet these guys are sick of seeing the same parts over and over as they go through the evolution.
The low handles are for the unlucky passenger sitting in the front seat,;). The high one is for me.

This thread is awesome. Thanks for taking the time to share. :thumbsup2:
I don't know where you got yours, but my buddies here put handles on their boat that originally were public washroom type handles. They're stainless steel and cost less than a similar handle meant for a boat.

I can guarantee you won't see any shore line in any images.:D

My handles are 316 SS (more nickle) that I had kicking around from my old boat. The bathroom bits may be 304, but I'm not sure.

Did a little chop and channel to a old Morse cover that didn't fit my controller. The one that fits my unit is not available and I'm tired of searching EBay. The heliarc will be fired up if I can't find one.
Mounted the 200 watt media amp on rubber shock bushings, speakers due in the mail tomorrow.Steering rack and helm sealed, bolted and Blue Loctighted.Anchor on the way along with the sea anchor.
Cheers, Don
Update, excuse the long fasteners, I grab anything for mock up.
When do you use the drogue Don?
When do you use the drogue Don?
I use a sea anchor when Shite happens... your cruising homeat 25 knots in medium seas from a crossing and Bam! you run over a blue shark just below the surface and there go's the prop. My old fly bridge boat was never happy in a big beam sea. First thing I would do is lay out 300' of rode and a weighted sea anchor to keep the bow into the waves while I changed out a prop or pulled the cans on the fuel filter/water separator when a motor dies. The sea anchor can really slow down your drift in big wind as well.
I would never use it to dive alone on a floating paddy or weed at sea, I have a kid I love to go home to.;)
