Nate did all the work on most of the fish, i shot the grover YJ and trigger, and pulled the bug. Funny story on the bug... nate shot at one of the schoolmasters and it darted into a hole, i went down to try and find it and looked into the hole and saw the bugs face upside down... I said hell with it and grabbed it and yanked it out.

Funny thing happened today too, we took my younger brother to the same place on thanksgiving, nate lost a tickle stick. On our last drift today he swims up to me with a tickle stick all grown over and funky... turns out it was the same one he lost thanksgiving weekend.

13 feet of water in a coral pocket over off nassau. Did a yacht delivery as crew this weekend and got some diving in. No spears needed, I grabbed both bugs. Big one is my PB, pic doesnt do it justice.

did the jupiter diving thing today in hopes of bagging a cobe, my buddy ryan shot a 25 lber yesterday and had a sighting of a huge one.... we came up dry without a single sighting, I shot a rainbow runner but it never made it to the ice and cooked in the chum bucket on deck. Did get completely swarmed by a dozen feisty little sharks at one point that had me n one of the guys back to back for a few minutes.

Bummer about the cobes. They are around too.
About rainbow runners, they are amazing sashimi!! If you gut em and bleed em they make some really great sushi!

Killed some nice fish today. Buddy pulled a huge hog and a black and I cleaned up on lionfish, got 2 keeper hogs and got my 1st black of the season.

Nice work

Was a rough day. Lost a 10 lb hog on a tearoff, whiffed a shot on a 40 lb cubera and a massive cuda... was rusty getting back in the water bigtime.

How do you handle your lionfish? Carry shears in your bc? Clip em on the boat? I shoot them all but leave most of em except the big brutes. They are super delicious but annoying to deal with on the water
-
stab/polespear, EMT shears and string em. ive got the process down to about a minute or less per fish.

I've cleaned and eaten a few AndrewK Lionfish. The trick is, he shoots them so many times with a 3 prong that theres nothing left to sting you.
They cook up mighty tender though.

Had one hell of a good day off key west this weekend.
