Glad someone got it

I saw this thing today and its a pretty interesting little tool. Its not very sharp like you would expect but if you put enough force into it will puncture. The other thing that makes it interesting is the location that Judah is talking about placing it. His idea is placing it on his forearm so that even fat, lazy and old people can access it without too much effort. This also makes it harder to confuse with reaching for a knife as they wont be anywhere near each other.
Personally Ill probably just use my knife but the gear whore/engineer in me will force me to try it at least once. I really appreciate the innovation; some of the coolest things in this sport came out of some guys garage. (and still do)
-
If I push hard enough, one day I can dive as well as a fat and lazy guy I know
-
No pun in ten did !
Hahahaha I find it hard to believe you make such clever comments with English as your second language. I am always impressed Tono!!
-
Hahahhahha, I love English Juddah, It amazes me how efficient is the language of Shakespeare.
Get a handle for that Iki to have a better grip and a fixed point for leverage, some fish skulls are tough.

Okay. I have decided to go with the ultra low profile option first. I figure that if it is uncomfortable or impractical, I can easily remove everything but the strip of neoprene and that will only be a minor porqueria.
So I heated and fused a pen , thanks xan! And will be using that to protect the wetsuit. Here are the materials
Laid together
And how it will look on the sleeve.
I am going to stuff my suit sleeve with foam noodles to simulate it being on and to give some support while gluing up.

Why not flare (open wider horizontally like a funnel) the pen so it would be easier to insert the "needle"? -
Another thing to consider is doing a slotted pocket. If you make the needle go all the way in except for 3/4 of an inch you can leave a slit in the neoprene and use the slit to cover and hold the end in. Also might wanna tape it on and try the suit on before you glue it up to make sure it feels good.
-
I don't understand the slots you are describing
-
Let me illustrate. Edit incoming shortly
Like this:
little flap keeps it secured and untangly but you could probably rip it out pretty quickly. Dans powerhead pouch works like that and is great.
-
Now I wanna make a flashlight belt pocket for my speardiver torch.
-
If you're thinking of gluing this patch on a Speardiver open cell suit, the suit will lose its stretchy properties in that area.
-
Make it strapped sheath like the rob allen one.

Dan do you think the forearm of the suit is doing a lot of stretching such that it will be a concern?
I see Marc. That is a good idea
-
This depends on how the suit fits you. Different body types need the most stretch in different places. If it's on the forearm Popeye would certainly have a problem
-
Hahaha yes, yes he would.
I wanted to come by your place tomorrow to show you my new ulusub and get some advice about teak oil finish maintenance. If I bring my suit top would you give me your assessment of the stretch needs?
-
Will do.
