I found that paying $40-$50 dollars for a flasher float commercially WAYYYY ridiculous so I made my own cheaply and simply.
Get any pot or net float/buoy(online or at your closest fishing shop), bullet shape is easiest but not important( I found 10 inch float ideal size) and in the center outside of float start cutting away material to the depth you want, not to deep as there is a hole through the center and you could ruin the float.
Next tie line to groove and spool cheep cord or fishing line as it isn't a load bearing line and only meant to hang your flashers.
Next get a shock cord with hooks on each end, cheep and easy to find at hardware stores or automotive stores, bend it double and insert into and through the center hole of the float till it is out the other side.
Now simply grasp the bent double cord on one side of float and one shock cord hook on the other side of float and pull them till the hook catches the cord loop.
You know have a way to let out only the amount of line you want to set the depth of flasher and also the second hook in the bungee/shock cord now provides a way to hang rig or to link multiple floats together to form a flasher line.
