I've been crushing the fish this summer with my 57" roller gun.
I'm using a 57" Addiction 5/16 spear with 3 wraps of steel shooting line.

Stoned this Permit
Shot these after work a few weeks ago.
I wouldn't have landed these without the metal shooting line.
The last pic shows my gun.
Man you always land big beautiful fish.
While I am very impressed with your roller gun I feel, in your case, it has a lot more to do with the Indian than the arrow
I am dyeing to try one out, roller gun that is.
Hard to think about wire as shooting line...I hate it and so does every other guy I dive with, wonder why you like it other than the obvious Gags holding up in holes and you being worry free..lol.. Bequia Blues said he would never use wire again after having a large pelagic fish break his wire.
I love trying new stuff even old new stuff..lol..please explain your choice of wire and what wire you use Chuck if u got the time and inclination.
Nice going Charlie. Is that your son?
Nice fish!
You guys sure get some nice gags over there. It would be nice if we could get them as consistently as you do in freediving depths. The scubaroos can get some nice ones deep but it's rare to get such quality fish for us without going past 100'. Of course we don't have a lot of good natural structure in shallow depths and even if we did, the viz is usually horrible.
We have a few wrecks in 50-80' but more often than not you can't see your hand in front of your face.
Really nice hunting Charlie, I like the picture of you and your gun with the boy.
Cheers, Don

Bummer man. That would be frustrating.

The two gags I shot with my son in the pic were on a small rock pile in 27fsw. 15.5lbs each.
Dan, yes. That's my son. 5 1/2 years old.
