So for the first time i got to meet one of my Speardiver friends and actually dive with him, really cool!
J.C has been trying to get here to dive with me for awhile and finally found an excuses :thumbsup2: Hank you and Jakes turn next bro Anyway, took him on a lunch time quick shore dive to one of my favourite spots with my wife(she is :cool2:), I said expect this this and this to be here and here... I'll be dammed if the rude bugger didnt shoot what i said would be there and upstage me!! Mans a beast underwater, took my Koah 120 euro through its paces today :attack3:
One our way to the first bit of structure(yes i am vague) I make it to the sweet spot before J.C(obviously as he didnt know where it was!), my wife took off before we got in the water and bee lined it to the sweet spot, soooo I just bee lined it to her(thanks hon ) Thinking, okay going to get some blood here first, when POW i hear a gun go off! I instinctively turn my head to the sound, and nearly get run over by two massive kingfish bolting like the devil himself was after them! Had to be 30-40lb'ers, biggest I have ever seen underwater! So i swim over to where the sound came from and there is JC with a cero mack as big as they get around here, with a perfect shot through it. Impressive! The vis i shoot in is about 10-15 ft and it spooks most divers, not this Miami boy :thumbsup2: . Turns out there was a school on the Cero and I guess the kings must have been hunting them when JC’s gun going off frightened the stripes off of the buggers.
So next i show him my mutton honey hole and we are both working it, I decide to do a long drop and work the side of the "structure" (i am not used to diving with a buddy) and didnt tell him i was going long, about two min later a surface to Sophia and JC looking frantic at where i started my dive... so i swim over, only to my shame to find out they were starting a search sorry guys :(. Anyway JC needs to get back, so I say before you go you have to swim this blah blah, have to! So he shrugs and drops in, two seconds latter POW again and there is a frigging 12-14lb mutton on the man’s spear!! :thumbsup2: Dude unicorned the thing from behind! Honestly that was the best I have felt in a long time, putting a friend on fish and watching him tear it up, priceless! Only downside is I didn’t get a turn...hahahahahahahahah. There will be no mercy shown when we hit the blue together(weather allowing) on Thursday :rolleyes1:
