Greetings from Los Angeles!

  • Well, here is my intro. Been diving the Palos Verdes area since the early 1990's. All shore based diving. It is what I like most about California. Awesome shooting right off the shore. No need to hassle with the boats. Opportunities for quick evening dives right after work. My go to weapon is my Riffe C2. Two 5/8 bands and a 1/4 shaft. Lately I have been going pole spear only. Target species are anything from rock fish and perch to halibut, wsb and yellowtail. Anyhow, I logged on hoping to pick up a few gold nuggets to help my spearing.

  • Cardiac Hill will take care of anyone! My aorta hurts just thinking about it.

    Hey Mike, welcome! :thumbsup2:
Good intelligent dive conversations here, except for the occasional rants about SB and questions surrounding Rolo's sexual orientation. ;)

Training for PV up here in Norcal... got a full harvest last weekend and had to stop about 20 times on the way back to the car! :(

  • Oh. I call that the Captains Platter. Nice work.

  • How do you make a YFT omelet? :confused1:

I use my trimmings after I smoke them with Wasabi lased brine, I can then store it in a jar till I use it.
I then make a shatoki mushroom omelet and fold in the YFT, fish protein in the AM is like a Red Bull.
    Cheers, Don

    I have a few that I use.

    JBL Polespear sliptip
    JBL Detachable double flopper

Also, Just put together a setup with a JBL 3" tri cut. I use this tip on my C0 for halibut with 100% success. Nice inexpensive slip tip.
