Come on now buddy; I was just following the conversation. :cool2:
"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy shit! what a ride!'" ~Hunter S. Thompson"
Better? :thumbsup2:

HST never fails to impress.
Life is a tragedy for those who feel and a comedy for those who think
This forum is chock full of thinkers.
Cheers!!!
Here's a lil Trini flavour........"De change from de dollar does make de most noise"
Khalel, what does it mean?
Khalel, what does it mean?
"the change from the dollar makes the most noise" - "it takes two to quarrel"
Here's another....."Even doh I am a hungry cock, ah doh eat rotten corn" – One should maintain his dignity and integrity irrespective of his wants.
I enjoyed those khalel. Thanks
Here is a good one about music and life. I like it
No one imagines that symphony is supposed to improve as it goes along, or that the whole object of playing is to reach the finale. The point of music is discovered in every moment of playing and listening to it. It is the same, I feel, with the greater part of our lives, and if we are unduly absorbed in improving them we may forget altogether to live them. -Alan Watts, philosopher, writer, and speaker (1915-1973)
“From some perspectives, all of us are insiders and all of us are outsider. It is all a matter of point of view, and point of view is always affected by where you stand”
Everyone stumbles/falls. It is the manner in which they recover that demonstrates their true character.
In my youth, I would be a Rodney Hammerhead when it came to pinging on people for a response to my question. Then I learned:
The absence of communication, is in fact communication, and that communication centers around the word "No".
"For men of understanding do not say that the sword is to blame for murder, nor wine for drunkenness, nor strength for outrage, nor courage for foolhardiness, but they lay the blame on those who make an improper use of the gifts which have been bestowed upon them by God, and punish them accordingly."
St. John Chrysostom (circa 341-410 A.D.), from "Treatise on the Priesthood"
Cheers, Don

this is a tough quote for me. I happen to totally agree with it, but St John here is a difficult man for me to agree with...he is largely regarded as one of the founders of Anti-semitism
John Chrysostom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
he took Paul's "withered stump" idea and ran with it

Thanks for the Link, that is more spiritual reading than I have done in a while..I never was enough of a student of religion to know that St John was a founder of Anti-semitism.
I was doing vintage fighting knife research last night and ran across it in in a soldier's foot notes.
I will gladly delete it if the quote offends any members here.
Cheers, Don
No. Please don't remove it. Censorship is never the friend of discourse and learning
