Omer Airbalete 110

  • Received my new Airbalete piston today and noticed the seal material appears to be silicone on the cup seal. The O-ring has a less round cross section at the inner barrel interface.( New piston is on the right)

Completed the piston R+R and will pressurize tomorrow. I hope we have good conditions this weekend, I need to get wet.

  • what was the reason for the new piston Don? And please explain the line release mod to make the spring softer.

    Thanks

Here is a little video I just found.. I glued a small rectangle of wet suit rubber at the very front of the line latch channel to flair the latch out after firing the gun. One must still slide the latch back after firing with the spring completely removed. I did this as I plan to carry out pool tests next year and personally felt the spring would hold and slightly deflect the shooting line on very long shots. Now seeing others are doing it maybe I'm on the right track. Your gun may shoot fine just as it is.

  • I miss my pneumatic. I might pull it out and do some damage! :D

Make sure you film the carnage,:thumbsup2::D:D I may have to put a Scuba Pro 130 in the water next season if Homer doesn't ride the Airbalete hype and stretch the barrel to 120 or 130 cm and add a folding cocking lever.

No other then the line hole edges were sharp enough to slice sushi. Was the gun new ?

Josh at neptonics just had a roll of a new reel line made up it was somthing like 14 strands on a weaver ment for 17 or somthing like that it gave it a very lumpy ez to grip feel he is calling it grip cord . It's what I use now on my reel gun

Yea its brand new. It came with the newer slider with 3mm holes instead of the smaller ones that were having problems, i also dremeled/smoothed out the holes just in-case there were any burs as you told me. As far as the slider getting stuck im not sure, i guess the force just jams the slider on the butt piece and is impossible to get off with just your hands. Its ok though, I was planning on changing out the whole shaft slider idea for a tovarich style free shaft/shooting line connection without dry barrel kit, which i did last night :D:D
