That's not kingfish, is it? Matt says you like eating that nasty, bloody stuff! Although, with the pinkish color, I'm thinking it's rainbow runner or black jack? Rainbow runner is the world's best tasting bait.
Usually the worse it tastes cooked, the better it tastes raw. The only exceptions I've found so far are kingfish and little tuny (gulf bonita) - they're just plain bad.
Rainbow Runner is indeed the schizzle:thumbsup2: And yes, I like Kingie very much! 95% of it is how the fish is processed;) I'll let y'all keep guessing. I'm sure you'll vomit once you know what it really is:laughing3:
I guarantee that with exception of the foreigners, that no one around here has ever eaten one:crazy: At least none of the ones I've been diving with:D
Whatever it is it looks appetizing. Nice presentation, the knife had to be sharp.
Looks delicious to me. Of course in Jordan I ate about 2/3 o a bag of chocolate crickets cosmic thought they were coffee beans.
black drum?
Chub or Jack Cravelle?
Eel
who care what it is, it looks yummy.
most people in california wont eat bonita but i think it makes fantastic sashimi, to each his own.
It's that black fish.... isn't it?
I don't think so. The black jack was ugly but not this ugly.
I'm sure you'll vomit once you know what it really is:laughing3:
Has to be something sinister.. like an Alligator gar :@
Lady fish or Gafftop!
Mmmm
My guess would be some yummy Jack Crevalle.
Doesn't look like Jack meat to me. :confused1:
Iguana.
Spadefish? Or human tar tar!
I know,
Its pogie and that stuff in the bottom of the plate is the juice from the pogie box.
OK John, you've kept us in suspense long enough. I hope it's not something as simple as cuda
Y entoces que es???:angry5::D
Yes, it is Jack Crevalle. I've been wanting to try one for a while, but it seems they kept getting cut up for chum:D
The fish really has to be cared for from the time it is subdued until the time it is served, as sashimi. It is very tedious and takes at least two days to prepare.
The fish I took was very small. No more than 10lbs. I have also tried Horse Eye, which was good, but the crevalle is better, I think.
