Bulk Rubber Supplier

  • Hey guys Its coming up on summer and Im looking to finish up my first build and Im trying to find a good supplier of rubber to tie my own bands. Im looking for 5/8" all black rubber. Here are some of the suppliers I have heard of:

    Pursuit
    Neptonics
    Mako spearguns
    Primeline rubber
    Spearitco

    Riffe

If you could post any reviews about any of these products. All are top notch brands.
    Thanks

  • I have only used Spearitco recently and love their fast shipping and low prices, however they only have amber core/black sheath available. I did pick up some 5/8ths Riffe amber at an incredible price at an auction recently and love the punch it has.

    Long Beach Neptune

    USCG 50GT

  • As far as I know, Primeline is the actual manufacturer for many (but not all) of the other brands/distributors you mentioned.

I would avoid Spearitco rubber. Their black over amber stuff is stretchier but less powerful than other black over amber, which I avoid anyways since I prefer all black.

I would buy it from Neptonics.

  • I was leaning towards neptonics but have never hear any review of their rubber and I didnt know how it compared to the other companies. Your right Primeline is a manufacturer but you can get rubber from them. I love the Riffe rubber and was wondering how the neptonics and mako rubber compare to the Riffe. I know a lot of them get their rubber from the same manufacturer is this the cas with Riffe/Neptonics/Mako?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

  • Get the Pursuit. Dan ordered a special 5/8" band that has the inner hole smaller than standard, which means more rubber. It is black over amber, but FOR ME that's the best compromize; you get the amber band stretch and soft release with the UV protection of the black cover.

I have tried many bands and the all black has a good punch, but is more explosve and you have to cut it longer. The amber can be cut shorter, thus means that the power is released gradually and longer, which produces less recoil and longer shots.

  • Mori's 15mm rubber is the best material I've ever used.. It falls between 5/8 and 9/16. Has the smooth release of the 9/16 rubber with more power and it does not have explosive pop of the 5/8 which causes inconsistent shooting and harsh recoil.

  • I have yried them all too. As long as the rubber is fairly fresh and tiedd to the correct legnth you will be happy. with how it performs. That being sid Pursuit is the way to go. Good price and good reviews from the Forum Members.

I think 15mm bands are best with 3+ banded guns.

I would avoid Spearitco rubber too. It doesn't have the power of primeline and more importantly, it doesn't last long. Spearitco rubber keeps stretching no matter how aggressive you cut it.

I do think black over amber is the best way to go. All black is just adding more impurities to the rubber.

Primeline is the best and most people around the world order it.

I spent the cash too and tried them all :laughing3:

  • Some people are wine snobs and others will stand and talk about art......I am a self confessed rubber fanatic.

I use Dan's with the reduced hole and Mori black hi-modulus. Different guns/shafts require different band performance. Back to night after work....

Did I really type that? :toast::toast::toast::toast::toast::toast: Burp!

  • I have yet to try the Pursuit rubber but will in the near future. I have used Mori and Spearitco and don't really have a problem with them. I didn't really like the RA 20mm blue stuff, really hard to pull back and not a smooth release in my opinion.

  • Where does everyone get the Mori rubber? I keep hearing about it but cant find it.

What is your gun length, weight, and shaft dia, :@...... thought Id never say that sorry.:D

  • I prefer this ocean whisper rubber tubing. It comes pre-perforated for smooth release and silent tracking. It has the added benefit of letting the spearo know when the bands are cut too short by breaking.

  • Its a 55 in overall length. I have a 57 in riffe shaft in 5/16. from the tip of the gun to the front of the mechanism is 44 " and the disanct from the center of the forward most band hole to where the back tab is is about 42". I dont know what the stock weighs but I have 3 band holes. Thanks Don
