Pucho
This fish reminds me of Captain Nemo's submarine, the Nautilus.
I always thought the same thing! It should have been called the Sturgeonsub.
I had shot a wrasse and i regret, the fish was good sized but damn ugly

That's cool, I didn't think too many people would recognize the movie, I remember seeing it in the theater as a child. It was a big deal to me because I loved the book.
The sturgeon is a beautiful fish that reportedly can live more than a hundred years. The very expensive caviar comes from the roe of these fish. The largest is the Beluga sturgeon which can reach 7meters (24 ft) and 3000lb.
Some more White Sturgeon pics.

What kind of wrasse was it? I know Napoleon wrasse can get very big. The only wrasse we shoot here is the hogfish.

Holy Crap! Not really, huh? Any actual photos of one approaching that size?
QuoteWikipedia
Unconfirmed reports suggest that belugas may reach a length of up to 8.6 m (28 ft) and weigh as much as 2,700 kilograms (5,940 lbs), making them the largest freshwater fish in the world, larger even than the Mekong giant catfish or the pirarucu. At this mass, the beluga would be even heavier than the ocean sunfish, generally recognized as the largest of bony fishes. But the largest generally accepted record is of the female taken in 1827 in the Volga estuary at 1,476 kg (3,249 lbs) and 7.2 m (24 ft).
Here's a happy looking fellow with his catch of a Beluga sturgeon.

We call them Viejas, and are related to the parrot fishes, at least they look alike. They get to the 20 pounds range, no more, and they look pretty much like a hog fish.
What kind of fish is that?? Looks like a huge badass Lucio
Alligator Gar.
Mekong giant catfish
OMG :@ Lucios are real aggresive fishes, but they live in Europe and are not too big. Here in Mexico we have a Tabasco´s (State) version, they call it Pejelagarto and is really tasty.
There it is
There are a few species of Gar in the southern states. Some of them look like the one in your lower pic.
The one on the top is some type of pike, maybe a muskelunge.
Nevermind..American Pickerel.
The Mexican version is the Ese Mejicanus!:D
The Mexican version is the Ese Mejicanus!:D
And the Rican version is Cerebre Nonexistanus:D
And of course the Homosexual version is Pingano Porelanus:hi:
Isn't it paradoxical that the largest wrasses are Napoleon? I wonder how they came up with that as the French Emperor was rather short and the term "napolean complex" tend to discribe grandiose little men.
Tiger fish, what a Tarpon and barracuda offspring might look like.
.
I would hate to not stone that fish!
